What Is Youngevity?

Youngevity is a California-based MLM (multi-level marketing) company that sells health and wellness products in categories such as health, nutrition, home, food & beverage, spa & beauty, essential oils, and more.

This company was founded in 1997 and their mission is to basically create health and nutritional products that help you live a happier and healthier life. They currently have an A+ rating on the Better Business Bureau website which is a somewhat good sign that they’re legit, but that doesn’t mean their business opportunity is worthwhile.

In this review I’ll be reviewing their business opportunity and whether it’s worth joining or not for people who want to make money with them. But first let’s take a quick glance and what kind products they sell.

Youngevity Products

Youngevity has a massive line of products, they got everything from food & beverage, health and nutrition, to photo kits and mobile and internet services. This is the biggest selection of products I’ve ever seen with an MLM company.

Here are just a few examples of the products they’re selling:

  • Health & Nutrition – Different kinds of supplements for many things like brain, bone, anti-aging, vitamins, etc.
  • Home & Family – Various kitchen, home, and garden products. There’s even pet stuff like chews and treats.
  • Food & Beverage – All kinds of stuff like sport drinks, energy drinks, detox drinks, breakfast foods, soups, etc.
  • Spa & Beauty – Make-up for women, spa stuff like facial peels, bath and body things like body wash, etc.
  • Fashion – Different things for women like jewelry, apparel, hand bags, etc.
  • Essential Oils – Singles, blends, diffusers, kits, and other equipment
  • Photo – Albums, cardstock & paper, kits, collections, and more.
  • Services – Different home and business services like mobile phones, internet, roadside assistance, and more.

They also have a flagship product called “90 For Life” which is a supplement that offers 90 different essential nutrients that supposedly offers the body what it needs for optimal health.

If you want to buy Youngevity products you probably won’t find them in your local store. They are a MLM company which means they sell their products using independent distributors.

So there are 3 ways to buy Youngevity products:

  1. Buy them on Youngevity’s website
  2. Buy them off someone who is a Youngevity distributor
  3. Find them online at places like

But like I’ve said, this review is about their business opportunity and whether it’s worth joining or not. If you want to create an income you can sign up to become a Youngevity distributor and make money by selling and promoting their products.

Become a Youngevity Distributor

Anyone can sign up to become a Youngevity distributor where you’ll be able to earn an income by selling their products as well as by recruiting new distributors to do the same.

You’re not employed by Youngevity, you’re just an independent business owner working for yourself. This type of business is ideal for people who don’t like having a boss, you get to call your own shots and make your own decisions, but you’re also responsible 100% for your own success and failures.

To get started you’ll need to pick a package to enroll into. There are 3 different packages:

  1. Business Startup ($30) – Includes welcome pack, replicated website, business coach, wholesale pricing
  2. Business Essentials ($199) – Includes everything from above plus product samples
  3. Business Builder ($499) – Includes everything from above, but you’ll get more products

Although the cheapest option is only $30, the Business Startup does not include any products. You’ll need to purchase products in order to show them to potential customers, offering samples, selling them, etc.

They give you a replicated website to sell your products, but this type of website won’t rank well on search engines so you won’t be getting any free traffic. To drive traffic to your website usually the way is to pay for advertisement, but this can run you deep in the hole financially if you don’t earn enough to recover your advertising costs.

Youngevity Compensation Plan

Youngevity distributors can earn income either by selling products or recruiting new members. Their compensation plan is a little bit hard to understand so I’ll briefly go over it in laymen’s terms below:

There are two main ways to create an income as a Youngevity distributor:

  1. Earn Commissions From Sales – As a distributor you’ll have access to wholesale pricing at up to 30% off, selling them back to customers at retail price and the difference is your profit.
  2. Recruiting New Distributors – Tell your friends about this business opportunity and hook them up. By recruiting new distributors there are various commissions and bonuses that you can earn.

If you want to learn more about the different types of achievement bonuses, commissions, and prize incentives then check out Youngevity’s Full Compensation Plan Here. Also see the video below for a more in-dept explanation:

Video Explanation Of Youngevity’s Compensation Plan:

Qualifying Volume (QV)

There’s also something called Qualifying Volume (QV) you’ll need to be aware of, this is a compulsory product purchase you’ll need to make every month in order to qualify for sales commissions.

So this means even if you don’t sell anything in a month you’ll still need to keep purchasing new products just to remain active and be eligible to earn!

How Much Could You Expect To Earn?

Usually with MLMs you can look at the company’s earnings income statement to see exactly how much their distributors are making. But with Youngevity I couldn’t find theirs, it seems odd that they would choose not to show it, my guess is because they don’t want people to know how little their distributors are making?

If you look at other similar MLMs like Young Living and doTERRA  most of their distributors are making $100 a month or less, this type of result is typical of MLMs and so there’s no reason to expect Youngevity to be any different.

According to a report done for the FTC website 99% of MLM business fail, so I wouldn’t be surprised if most Youngevity distributors are making chump change at best.

The biggest problem with MLMs is that the majority of people do not have the networking and marketing skills necessary to take their business to high enough levels to earn those big commissions and bonuses.

Another thing is that with MLMs most of the selling and recruiting is done face-to-face, if you’re not good with talking with people then this is probably not for you.

If MLMs doesn’t suit you then check out my Top Work At Home Recommendation instead where I’ll show you how I personally make $1000+ monthly with a blogging business. Free to start, and no selling or recruiting required!

Is Youngevity a Scam?

Youngevity is not a scam, they’re a legit business opportunity where it’s possible to earn good money. But it’s only ideal for people who have strong face-to-face communication skills and are really good at selling and recruiting, you’ll need some serious networking and marketing skills to succeed at this game.

The startup costs are also quite expensive. Although the $30 basic package is the only mandatory thing you’ll need to buy to become an official Youngevity distributor, in reality you’ll also need to purchase product packages that can run up your starting costs to $500.

Plus there’s also ongoing costs like the QV that requires you to spend money on products every month.

Overall this business opportunity is very expensive to start and is very tough for the average person to succeed at, I really don’t recommend you join Youngevity or any other MLMs.

There’s a much better way to make money which I’ll show you below, and it’s got nothing to do with selling or recruiting.

How I Make My Money Online

I make money online by having a blog like the one you’re on right now. Basically what I do to make money is by recommending other people’s products and services and earn commissions when my recommendation results in a sale.

This is called Affiliate Marketing and I recommend it over MLMs because of a few reasons:

  • No selling or recruiting
  • You can work from the comfort of your laptop no matter where you are in the world
  • You can promote any product you want, not just limited to the products of the MLM company you joined
  • Free to start

I’ve been doing affiliate marketing since 2016 and since that time I’ve been able to create a 4-figure income stream and become financially independent. Anyone with the right training and mindset can do this!

If you want to follow in my footsteps then check out the link below where I’ll show you the same platform that’s taught me how to do all this. They give you training courses, classrooms, tools, 1-on-1 coaching, community, and much more:

My top recommendation does work! But it’s not a cake walk, you still have to put in the work. Only join if you’re ready to take action and put in the effort to learn and build your business.

If you’re not ready to build your own business yet then fortunately you can still see my Favorite “Get-Paid-To” Sites where you can earn some extra income online by taking surveys, playing games, watching videos, doing offers, and more. These sites won’t replace your 9 to 5 income, but they’re a fun way to make some spare income every month.

That’s it for this Youngevity review, as usual I’d love to read about your own experiences with them if you have any. Please leave your comments and questions down below, you’ll hear back from me in a day or so.
