Validately Review – Scam Or Earn Cash Testing Websites?

paid to test websites

Validately is a site that pays people to test websites, apps, and other project prototypes. These creators want feedback and opinions on their products so they can better improve them before they’re released.

If you want to earn money, Validately appears to be scam free and legit, but they’re not the best way to earn cash online. Many users complain that they rarely receive any testing opportunities, but good thing is that whatever opportunities you do get you’ll get paid nicely for it.

Although you can earn up to $50/hr on Validately, they just don’t have enough work available to go around. In the meantime you can join my Favorite “Get-Paid-To” Sites to earn money online taking surveys, completing marketing offers, watching advertisement videos, visiting websites, and a bunch of other stuff.

Validately Review

Name: Validately
Type: Paid to test websites & apps
Membership Price: Free To Join
My Rating: 3.3 out of 5

test functionality of websites apps

I gave Validately a 3.3 out of 5 and I do recommend them. Their biggest advantage is that they pay really well for your time, each testing job varies in pay but you can expect to get paid around $25-$50 per hour on average.

But what good is high pay if you never get any opportunity to work? I’ve seen some users complain on forums about signing up months ago and never even received one testing opportunity!

While you wait for testing opportunities with Validately you can earn some extra income at these top “get-paid-to” sites.

Earning Money – How Does Validately Work?

  • A computer (Mac or Windows 10)
  • Webcam and Microphone
  • Internet Connection
  • Smartphone (Android or iPhone) Less Than 3 Years Old
  • Paypal Account

Signing Up

Validately is free to join but you do need to be at least 18 years old. To sign up you’ll need to fill out a form with your email and password, you’re also given the option to sign up with your Facebook account. After you join you’ll have to fill out your profile and answer some basic demographic questions such as your age, income, education, and the type of phone you currently use.

Then you’ll need to do a sample test, this is so they can judge the quality of your phone/computer’s audio quality, after you submit your sample test you’ll need to answer a few additional questions.

Start Testing

You’ll be notified of whether you passed the sample test or not, if you passed then you can start being invited to test and earn. When there’s a testing opportunity available to you then you’ll receive an invite by email.

But keep in mind there may be an additional screen test you see if you qualify to do the testing. This is a big complaint with Validately, just because you receive a lot of email invites doesn’t mean you’ll get to earn.

Earning Potential

For a quick 5 minute talk aloud live session you can earn $5-$10, and for a 30 minute webcam session with a moderator you can earn $25. As you can see, these hourly rates are stellar, but unfortunately you’ll rarely be busy working. Getting enough work is the biggest problem with Validately. Sure they pay well, but they don’t give you earning opportunities very often.

Did you know that on My Favorite “Get-Paid-To” Sites you can also earn money online watching videos, playing games, doing tasks, visiting websites, clicking ads, and more? They don’t pay good hourly, but there’s endless ways to earn and you can spend all day doing different tasks. Or if you want a BIG online income then see my #1 Recommended Way of Making Money Online

Getting Paid By Validately

When you complete a test, you will be paid after 7 days via Paypal. There is no minimum payout threshold, as long as you’ve earned something you’ll get paid after 7 days.

Currently Paypal is the only way to get paid, so you absolutely need to have a Paypal account to join Validately. Unfortunately there’s no alternate payment options, I would have liked to see some gift cards or direct bank transfer options. But Paypal is still awesome and I consider them the golden standard for getting paid online.

Validately Advantages

High Paying

The biggest advantage about Validately is that they value your time and pay you a really high hourly rate. Some testing jobs can pay up to $50/hr, that’s more than what 99% of people in the USA make hourly-wise!

Cash Out Anytime

Unlike some other sites that make you earn a minimum amount before they pay you, Validately has no minimum payout amount. Once you have done at least one testing job you will get paid a week later. Doesn’t matter if it’s only $5, you’ll get paid in 7 days!

Validately Problems

Not Enough Tests

The main problem with Validately is that there’s a lot more testers than there are tests to go around. So even though you may be able to make $25-$50 per hour, don’t expect to be able to quit your job and do this full time.

Tests Hard To Qualify For

After you have joined and passed the initial sample test you’ll start receiving testing invites via email. You’ll likely receive invites at least a few times a week, but you’ll still need to qualify for them before you can take on the job and earn money. According to some complaints I’ve seen on forums you won’t qualify the vast majority of times.

I recommend you check out these extra income sites where they offer ways to earn where you don’t need to qualify. You can just log in and start earning right away.

Just Small Income

Honestly you’ll be lucky if you qualify for one test a month, and that’ll only give you about $25 or $50 a month of income. This is definitely not a full time job opportunity, I’ve seen people complain of not receiving testing invites for months at a time!

Although the hourly pay is incredibly good you just won’t receive enough earning opportunities, so therefore Validately will remain only a supplemental income site.

Verdict: Is Validately a Scam?

Validately appears to be a legit site to earn money at, there aren’t any signs or indications that they’re a scam. While I do recommend them, they are not something to get too excited about. You’ll mostly be waiting for available jobs to do as work is a rare opportunity, but when you get them you’ll get paid a very nice hourly wage of $25-$50.

For more extra income opportunities you can check out my Favorite “Get-Paid-To” Sites where you can earn cash watching videos, doing offers, surveys, reading emails, shopping, and more.

Terrible testing site. Only a fraction of the tests other sites give (and a huge amount of ‘clickers’ just trying to earn money rather than providing an actual service to the customer). Also no income dashboard meaning if they reject your test, you have no come back. I have never had a test rejected anywhere apart from when I joined this charade. I have 2 sites that I make a minimum of $300 a month from, using this thing I made $20 in a month, one of which was rejected. I told them to close my account as I do this as a service rather than for the money.

I did not close the account out of sour grapes, rather Validately is just so bad – and so behind the times technology wise. I know the affiliate game like like the back of my hand, and when they start stealing tests, they are on a big downward spiral. Seen it all before. Other testing sites are creaming them business wise with better platforms, a better system and far better tests coming in.

Companies beware paying to use this site. They treat their testers badly so if you want genuine in depth analysis and advice from the public, use another platform. Better testers appreciate good people and do not use Validately.

Validately is just a waste of time for everyone.

Hey Simon, thanks for sharing your personal experience with them. Sounds like you’re making some pretty good part time income from testing websites, yet Validately isn’t one of them. What sites are you currently using to make $300 a month from?

I have worked with Validately in the past so I have an insider perspective I am reading your review with. I agree totally with your evaluation and would recommend this as a means to start earning some money online, but not as a long-term solution. I mean this in a good way.

There are better ways to trade time for more money available doing online activities. One example would be setting up an affiliate marketing business, or perhaps selling your own products, or even drop shipping are all ways to earn more for the hours you spend building out your business.

As you rightly mention, the money is real and the pay is good for the actual time you spend doing the reviews. The problem is that you have to be qualified first and there is a window of opportunity that if missed, you miss the chance to do the work. This means it is a hit or miss chance, and you will waste time standing by for the jobs and you may not qualify.

For a morale boost, or a short term thing to earn some money that you can leverage into something that will pay your more, this is a good platform. I tried it for a couple of months and did manage to make a few hundred dollars. I got paid no problem. That was good.

I saw that you could make money online, so I switched to other activities and now  4 years later I am making a full-time income from my online businesses. If I had stayed with Validately, that would not have happened. I still would be hanging around the laptop, waiting for the next job.

A good review of Validately and useful information for people looking for ways to make money online. Thanks!

Hey Dave, yeah you’re right on the money there. This is a good side gig, a stepping stone to bigger and better things if you will. Wow you made a few hundred bucks in a few months? Not bad for a side gig.

I guess one could always sign up for multiple side gigs and combine it into a full time gig, but I don’t know many other sites like Validately that pays well for your time, most sites that let you make money online pays really low (like survey sites and get-paid-to sites.) Thanks for sharing your experience.

Nothing good comes easy and as good as Validately might be, the flaw of not having enough work to go around would always be a turnoff to a lot of people. They might have to work on this and try and create more opportunities for their members. The fact that they are actually legit shows that they can do more to make their site better which would attract more people to their website.

    • Author - Kent Leung says:

With more opportunities there will be more people flocking to this site to try and make a full time income from it, which will likely bring us back full circle to not having enough opportunities to go around.

There are so many different legit ways to make money online, but unfortunately most are only good for making a small income. If you’re looking for something that offers full time income potential I suggest you learn how to build a blogging business where eventually you can earn $1000+ per month or more.
