Treasure Trooper Review – Scam or Legit Paying GPT Site?

get paid to complete offers

If you’re anything like me you’re probably someone who spends all their free time on the internet, mostly doing time wasting stuff like watching random videos, giving random opinions on random things..right? But did you know there are websites that pay you to do those things?

Treasure Trooper is a get-paid-to (GPT) site, they pay you cash rewards to do things that you’re probably already doing already. While there are certainly GPT sites out there that are dodgy or plain scams, many are real opportunities to make a little easy cash. So is Treasure Trooper a scam or a legit paying GPT/rewards site?

In this Treasure Trooper review I’ll go over how you can earn cash rewards, how you’d get paid, and the final word on whether they’re a scam or legit.

But I first need to emphasize that the amount of cash you can make with these GPT sites and other similar things are really really small. We’re talking micro amounts, typically you can expect to make about $10 to $50 every few months. Treasure Trooper Intro – Who Are They?

Name: Treasure Trooper
Type: GPT (get-paid-to) site
Price: Free to join
My Rating: 1.9 out of 5

get paid doing surveys offers

Treasure Trooper is a get-paid-to site that started around 2005, they offer their users a way to earn a little extra money by doing very simple tasks like taking surveys, signing up for cash offers, shopping, and more. Since 2005 they have paid out over $7 million to their users, or so they say.

Their website offers a very unique look, you can find many different cartoon characters within the design of the pages with a wilderness treasure hunting theme. Most GPT sites are pretty straightforward, and Treasure Trooper is too, but the new user going on the site may find all the cartoons and different things a bit confusing and distracting.

Treasure Trooper is a long-standing GPT site which is a pretty good sign that they’re legit. Scams tend to pop up for a short while, then disappear once word spreads. A GPT site such as Treasure Trooper that’s been around since 2005 is probably a good sign that they’re not a scam.

How Does It Work? Ways To Earn

get paid to complete offers do surveys watch videos search the internet

They give you $1 just for signing up, which actually isn’t bad. I’d be more cautious if it was a big signup bonus, like $100 or something, this is a classic red flag for scams as they probably don’t intend on paying you. Anyway, to create a new account at Treasure Trooper all you need is your name and a working email address. Once you’ve created a new account you can go to your members dashboard to find a variety of ways you can earn:

Doing Cash Offers

This is probably your best bet if you’re looking to make the most money on Treasure Troopoer. Pretty much every GPT site has cash offers, they are tasks that usually require you to sign up for something. Some of them are free, others require a credit card or for you to spend money. You can earn about $0.50 to $13 per offer, generally the free offers pay less.

Taking Surveys

Just like the cash offers, surveys are a staple at most GPT sites. At Treasure Trooper you can find 3 main sections within the surveys area: Study Storm, Survey Seeker, and Daily Surveys. Each section offer you many different surveys, they typically require 10 to 30 minutes to complete, and you can make about $0.25 to $2.50 per survey. You will have to answer screening questions to find out if you qualify for the survey or not, if you don’t qualify then you don’t get paid anything.

Making Phone Calls

If you like talking on the phone, this is a great way to earn for you! They give you a number to call and you have to stay on the line for at least 4 minutes, you can make $0.50 for this. Personally I hate talking on the phone with a passion, and so this wouldn’t work for me. But for those extroverts who crave human interaction, this could be your cup of tea.

Searching The Internet

You won’t earn very much doing this, but if searching the internet is already something you do often, then this may be for you. Your searches must be genuine though, you can’t just randomly search things 1000’s of times per day, they’ll detect this and block you.

Watching Videos

Again, you won’t earn much here, but it’s easy money. You just open up some videos and let it play. As a general rule, the easier it is the less you can earn, and it doesn’t get much easier than watching videos! You’ll be earning only a fraction of a penny per video watched.

Earning Virtual Currency: Gold Coins

You can also earn gold coins every time you complete an offer or task that pays in cash. You’ll earn:

  • 1 gold coin for completing an offer that pays less than $3
  • 2 gold coins for completing an offer that pays $3-$8
  • 3 gold coins for completing an offer that pays $8-$15
  • 4 gold coins for completing an offer that pays $15-$20
  • 5 gold coins for offers that pay over $20

You can go to “Mabutu’s Trading Hut” to trade in these gold coins for treasure map pieces and journal pages, which are basically more cash rewards.

More Ways to Earn: Referral Program

Treasure Trooper has a 4-tier referral program. That means when you refer a friend to Treasure Trooper, you’ll earn a percentage of what your friends earn, as well as what your friend’s referrals earn, and what your friend’s referral’s referrals earn! Here are the different levels of their referral program, the more referrals you can gather the higher up you’ll go:

Level 1: Bronze – You’ll earn 20% of your direct referrals’ earnings and 5% of indirect referrals’ earnings. You’ll start off at Bronze until you have gathered at least 5 active referrals, then you’ll move up to silver.

Level 2: Silver – Pretty much the same as Bronze, except you’ll get 5 cents for every daily survey your referrals complete. Once you’ve gathered 50 active referrals you’ll move up to gold.

Level 3: Gold – Same as silver except you’ll get 7 cents for the daily surveys commission, as well you’ll get $1 for every active referral you gather. Once you have 300 active referrals you’ll move up to diamond.

Level 4: Diamond – Same benefits as the lower levels except you’ll get 10 cents for the daily surveys commission, you’ll earn $5 whenever your referrals make a cash out, and you’ll also get a $300 bonus.

“Active referrals” is defined by Treasure Trooper as referrals who joined after May 1st 2012 and have earned at least $5.

How Does Treasure Trooper Pay You?

You can get paid by check or Paypal once you’ve earned at least $20. They will send out the check around the 15th of every month, and the Paypal payments will of course take much faster, usually around a day or so.

If you’re looking to get your earnings as quickly as possible, consider checking out other GPT sites such as Swagbucks where the minimum payout threshold is only $3. If you’re looking to make more than a few scrap dollars, consider checking out my #1 recommended way of making money online.

If you have any gold coins you can also redeem them at “Mabutu’s Trading Hut” for gift cards, cheap electronics, and various coupons.

The Positives

  • Membership is free and available to many countries worldwide
  • Offers many great ways to earn
  • 4-tier referral system

The Negatives

  • Hard to qualify for surveys
  • High paying cash offers requires spending money first
  • Other tasks like watching videos and searching the net pays very little and is a big waste of time
  • The many different reward systems like gold coins, gems, or whatever may be confusing to some people
  • Not a good way to earn any serious income

 Final Verdict: Scam or Legit?

Treasure Trooper is a legitimate GPT site, they offer you a fun-looking platform where you can earn a little cash. If you have a lot of time on your hands and you want to have a little fun while making a little money, this could be your thing. But this is only good for making a very small amount of money, you won’t be able to make a living doing this.
