SpringBoard America Review – Scam Or Rewards For Surveys?

share opinions to earn points for cash rewards

SpringBoard America is a pretty old survey site that started back in 2009, they offer you surveys on a variety of topics and issues, in return for taking them you can rewarded with gift cards.

SpringBoard America is not a scam, but if you’re here trying to make money online then you better take another look elsewhere cause you won’t make much on this site.

The biggest issue I found with this site is their lack of earning opportunities. Yes they offer surveys, but very few you’ll actually qualify for and get paid doing, so it’s really down to luck. With other sites like Swagbucks (read review) you actually earn doing many other things like playing games, watching ads, searching the web, shopping, and more.

In this SpringBoard America review I’ll show you how it works, how they pay, the good the bad, and whether they’re legit or not.

Intro – Springboard America Review

Name: SpringBoard America
Website: springboardamerica.com
Type: Paid survey site
Membership Price: Free To Join
My Rating: 1.7 out of 5

online market research surveys for rewards

So I gave SpringBoard America a final rating of 1.7 out of 5 and they’re not a scam, but basically they’re a waste of time if you’re trying to earn money online.

As I said before the main problem with this site is the lack of earning opportunities, but adding to that this site also have a high minimum payout of $50, and they don’t offer Paypal but only gift cards.

If I were you I’d just find better sites out there to join. There are quite a few sites I have reviewed in the past that have much lower payout thresholds and offer both gift card and Paypal payment options. See all sites that pay via Paypal HERE.

How Does Springboard America Work?

Complete Surveys

After you join you’ll get email invitations to do surveys. Keep in mind you won’t get paid if you don’t qualify, getting emailed survey invites simply means you can TRY to qualify for a paid survey!

Most times you won’t qualify and end up wasting a lot of time overall answering the screening questions. Usually the ones you do qualify are lower paying ones.

You don’t get paid in cash directly, you get paid in points which are worth $0.01 each and can be redeemed for a $50 gift card reward once you’ve reached 5000 points in earnings. Typically surveys pay 50 to 500 points, higher paying ones almost always have much stricter demographic requirements and so they’re pretty hard to qualify for.

You’ll see how much each survey pay in the email invite. After you complete a survey you’ll get credited with your earnings within about 24hrs.

Important Note: If you don’t do any surveys in a 5 consecutive month period, your account will expire and all the points in it taken away! I really dislike sites that do this.

Better Ways To Earn

On “get-paid-to” sites you can make money online watching video clips, clicking ads, joining websites, searching the web, playing games, and much more. Unlike taking surveys these other tasks don’t require having to qualify for, you can just do them and guaranteed to earn something for your time.

Getting Paid By SpringBoard America

One of the terrible things about SpringBoard America is their high payout threshold of $50, most other sites typically have thresholds of only $10 to $25.

This is bad because from what I’ve read on forums SpringBoard America don’t email you very many surveys, and you won’t qualify for the vast majority of them, so that $50 will take a long time to reach.

Another bad thing is they don’t pay via Paypal, only gift cards, but at least they have Amazon which is an online marketplace where you can buy practically anything. Once you have reached 5000 points in earnings from taking surveys, you can redeem them via these $50 gift card options:

  • Visa gift card (virtual or physical)
  • Amazon electronic gift card
  • iTunes
  • Google Play
  • Donation to a charity
  • Your own choice of a $50 gift card

Personally I prefer to join sites that offer payments via Paypal, I like to receive cash so I can do whatever I want with it. If that sounds like you as well, then check out these top 6 survey sites that pay with Paypal.

What I Like

  • Free to join and start taking surveys to earn
  • A site that has started since 2009 and has good reputation
  • You can choose your own gift card

What I Dislike

  • Membership only opened to USA residents
  • Don’t offer anyway else to earn besides surveys
  • Only a low income opportunity
  • Points expire if you’re inactive for 5 consecutive months
  • Very high payout threshold of $50
  • Don’t pay in cash via Paypal, only gift cards

Is SpringBoard America a Scam?

SpringBoard America is not a scam, but there’s so many things I dislike about them such as not offering enough ways to earn, having a high payout threshold, not paying via Paypal, and how points expire in 5 months. There’s no reason to join these guys when there are many other sites that pay much faster and offer many more ways to earn.

I highly recommend you go for get-paid-to sites instead of sites only offering surveys. Swagbucks (read review) is my favorite get-paid-to site that offers multiple ways to earn, pays via Paypal, has a great reputation, and they even offer a $5 sign up bonus right now.

If you’re ready to make more  than pocket change then you need to start your own online business. Survey sites and other similar things won’t get you that far. Check out my #1 Recommended Way of Making Money Online to learn how to create a full time passive income creating websites/blogs.
