What Is SpiderMetrix?
From seeing their name you’d think they’re some sort of company that deals with spiders, but I assure you that is not the case. They are a survey site that started up back in 1999, they pay you to take surveys on various topics such as music, movies, TV shows, sports, computers, and lots more. Members of SpiderMetrix are known as “spiders.”
SpiderMetrix is 100% free to join. They’re based in Australia but they accept international members.
To get started you just have to create a username and password. Then you’ll have to fill out the registration form with your name, country, date of birth, and a few other things.
Then after confirming your email you can log in to see your main user hub where you’ll be able to access open surveys, see your account balance, and choose rewards.
Earning Spider Points
The main way to earn at SpiderMetrix is by taking surveys. They pay you with “spider points” every time you complete surveys, just save these points until you have enough to trade them in for cash or gift card rewards.
For your reference 1 spider point = $0.12 USD or $0.17 AUD.
Just for registering your account will start off with 7 spider points. You’ll also have a bunch of profile questions to fill out, if you fill them all out you’ll earn another 15 spider points for a total of 22 spider points.
To earn more you can click on “Open Surveys” in your user dashboard. This will open up a list of surveys that are available for you to take, you’ll also see how many points it pays after completion.
As you can see in the above screenshot there are a bunch of short surveys available for me that pays mostly 1 spider point each. These are just single multiple choice questions. For example the “Shopping” survey was just a simple multiple choice question asking me “Have you ever shopped online?”
Doing these short 1 point surveys allow them to get to know you and your lifestyle habits better so they can match you with higher paying surveys which typically pay 8 to 15 points.
Another way to earn is by inviting your friends to join SpiderMetrix with your referral link. Each time a referral of yours join and completes a 20 min or longer survey you’ll earn 1 point.
How Much Can You Earn?
If you’re thinking of doing this full time I have to burst your bubble now, they’re only an extra income website where you can go on to earn a few bucks here and there, they’re not going to replace your job or anything close to that.
In my opinion you shouldn’t expect to earn more than $10 or so each month from SpiderMetrix or any other similar survey site. I’d recommend you Join Multiple Extra Income Sites to increase your overall earning potential.
How Does SpiderMetrix Pay You?
After accumulating a bunch of spider points you’ll have several ways to redeem them for real rewards:
- Amazon.com gift vouchers – Minimum 300 points to redeem $50 AUD / $35 USD
- Cash via PayPal – Minimum 300 points to redeem $50 AUD / $35 USD
- Donation to World Vision Australia – Minimum 12 points to donate $1 AUD / $0.71 USD
- Auctions – Bid your spider points for PayPal cash of $10 AUD / $7.10 USD or more
- Free to join
- Accepts international members
- Lots of short surveys to do
- Pays with PayPal
- Takes a long time to accumulate enough points for cash out
- High minimum payout thresholds
- Low income potential
Is SpiderMetrix a Scam?
I wouldn’t call SpiderMetrix a scam, they appear to be legit and paying as most people on forums have said they’ve gotten paid. However, the minimum payout is at 300 points which will take you a VERY long time to reach since surveys are so low paying. Some members said it took them YEARS to reach their first payout!
The main problem with SpiderMetrix is that there’s just not enough earning opportunities. You’ll get a few 1 point surveys when you first join, but higher paying surveys don’t come by very often.
I’d recommend you check out my Favorite “Get-Paid-To” Sites which are sites that offer you multiple ways to earn so there’s always something you can do to earn. Get paid to take surveys, watch videos, play games, download apps, and tons more.
