Today I’m reviewing a site called RapidWorkers. They’re what’s called a “micro job” site, ordinary people like you and me can sign up to become a worker and earn a micro amount of money for doing very simple tasks.
Is RapidWorkers a scam or a legit opportunity to earn an online income? How much can you earn? How do they pay? Are they a waste of time? Discover the answers below in this RapidWorkers review.
A micro income will not be enough to pay your bills. If you’re looking for a job-replacing type of online income then visit my Top Work At Home Recommendation instead where I’ll show you how I make $1,000+ per month with a blogging business.
Type: Crowdsourcing website
Membership Price: $0 FREE
RapidWorkers is a crowdsourcing platform that connects workers with employers who are looking to get small tasks done. These tasks vary a lot but typical examples would be:
- Following people on social media like Twitter
- Up voting videos on YouTube
- Filling out a sign up form on a website
- Writing brief reviews on various products
- Creating a new account on a website
- Plus a lot more…
These tasks take no skill to do and are very low paying, typically each task pay around $0.05 to $0.50 each, some pay more but may require more of your time and energy.
If earning a small extra income is okay with you then also check out my Favorite “Get-Paid-To” Sites where you can earn cash by taking surveys, watching videos, playing games, and more.
How RapidWorkers REALLY Works
Signing up is 100% free and anyone around the world can join. All you need is an email and to create a password. Then check your email to click the confirmation link.
Once you log in you can check the “Available Jobs” section to see a list of tasks that are available for you to be completed. Right now I see 100+ tasks on this list, so good to know you can keep busy.
Many tasks are geographic specific, meaning only certain countries are allowed to accept and work on them. Those labelled “International” are available for all countries.
Most tasks pay around $0.05 to $0.50 and take around 1-5 minutes to complete. You’ll need to submit proof of completion (such as screenshots) in the “Proof Box” afterwards.
What Type of Tasks Are Available?
There are many types of tasks you can do, but a very common task is where you need to click on a link and go to a website where you’ll need to sign up for an account or take some other type of action.
Here are a couple of examples of some tasks I see right now:
- Sign up for this website and verify your email to earn $0.10
- Download this app with your smartphone and verify your email to earn $0.12
- Go to this website and download the eBook to earn $0.10
- Sign up to this website and verify with your phone number to earn $0.05
Beware of “Download Text File” Tasks
Be careful of tasks that require you to download something, because you never know what that might be. Not every employer is a good person and there could be viruses or malware hidden in download links.
I’m not saying they’re all virus links, but you should proceed very carefully whenever a task asks you to download or install anything on your computer. Honestly I’d just skip those ones to be safe than sorry.
Maintaining Good Worker Ratings
As a worker the tasks that you have completed and submitted will be rated by the employer as either satisfied or not satisfied. Workers need to maintain ratings of 60% and above or else you will be banned from working on any more tasks for a certain period of time.
You’ll only get paid for completed tasks rated as “satisfied” by the employer. So of course that opens the door for abuse from the employer, who is to say they won’t just rate “not satisfied” for the sake of not having to pay you?
That could happen… but if it does you can open up a dispute with RapidWorkers who could then investigate, and if the employer is found to be in the wrong then they could get banned.
You can also check out my Favorite Extra Income Sites which are “get-paid-to” websites that pay you to do tasks like answering surveys, reading emails, playing games, watching videos, and more!
How Do You Get Paid?
You need a minimum of $8 in your account to be paid. Currently the only way to get paid is with Paypal.
To request payment you’ll have to send RapidWorkers an email with your email on the site, Paypal email address, and your ip address which can be found on the right hand side of the dashboard.
There is a 6% fee for the withdrawal and it will be paid out 24-48hrs after you request it.
- Free of cost to join
- Anyone around the world can become a worker
- 100’s of different tasks available everyday
- Tasks are easy and require no skill to do
- Payments made via Paypal
- Low payment threshold of $8
- Only a micro income opportunity, most tasks pay pennies
- Employers can rate you unfairly to avoid paying, however you can raise flags to RapidWorkers to investigate
- There is a 6% withdrawal fee
- You can’t replace your job with this
Is RapidWorkers a Scam Or Legit?
RapidWorkers appear to be legit, they’ve been around since 2009 and I’ve found no complaints about them not paying. That being said doing tasks on RapidWorkers and other similar crowdsourcing platforms are an incredibly low paying gig and making a significant part time or full time income is not likely.
Let’s say you earn an average of $0.05 per task that takes 3 minutes to do, if you do the math you’ll only be earning an hourly rate of $1! That’s less than what sweatshop workers in China make.
If you’re okay with earning $1 an hour I recommend you check out my Favorite “Get-Paid-To” Sites instead where the tasks are more FUN to do, like watching videos, playing games, taking surveys, reading emails, and more.
If you want to earn more than chump change then visit my Top Work At Home Recommendation where I’ll show you how to build a blogging business that generates $1000+ monthly in passive online income.
