My Dollarclix Review – Scam or Legit Paying Rewards Site?

earn cash rewards for taking surveys

Name: DollarClix
Website: www.dollarclix.com
Type: Get-Paid-To site
Membership Price: Free to join + upsells up to $25/month
My Rating: 2.8 out of 5

DollarClix is what’s known as a GPT or “get-paid-to” site. On GPT sites you can make a small amount of cash doing simple tasks like taking surveys, watching videos, playing games, signing up for various offers, clicking ads, and more.

DollarClix offers you many ways to earn points/cash, they seem to be pretty good as far as GPT site goes. The site looks really great and professional, but that does not automatically mean it’s legit. So is DollarClix a scam or a legit paying GPT rewards site?

In this DollarClix review I’m going to go over what it is, how the earning process goes, how you’d get paid your money, and whether they’re a scam or legit.

But keep in mind that even if it’s not a scam, GPT sites, survey sites, and other similar things are too low paying to consider doing it for a living. If you’re looking to make a substantial part time or full time income online, you need to forget about these low paying time wasters and check out my free guide below where I show you my #1 recommended way of making money online. What Is DollarClix About?

get paid for giving your opinions

DollarClix is a GPT site that started around 2015. They offer people various ways to earn points such as by doing surveys, watching videos, completing offers, and more. These points can then be redeemed for real cash or gift cards.

Right off the bat I was impressed by how organized the member’s area looked, but the thing that I liked most is how there was a DollarClix “chatbox” on the right hand side.

The system delivers an announcement every time a user completes an offer, earns points, or gets paid via cash out. I see my own name pop up on the chat when I completed some tasks and earned some points, so I know the announcements are real.

They’re very similar to another GPT site called Swagbucks (read review,) which is the one I usually recommend to people due to their excellent reputation, many ways to earn, quick and easy payouts, and their $5 sign up bonus. But DollarClix seems like a worthy rival to Swagbucks.

How Do You Earn Money on DollarClix?

You will be paid in points for every task you complete, each point is worth exactly $0.01 and those points can easily be converted to real cash. Under “My Account” you will find a section called “Convert Points,” this is where you can go to convert your points into a balance in dollars. You can earn points/cash at DollarClix by doing different things:

Taking Surveys

This is the main way to earn on DollarClix, it’s the one that pays the highest amount for your time hourly-wise. But it’s such a joke, it’s so hard to qualify for these surveys. What happens is they make you do a pre-screening survey that’s unpaid, and after you’ve already wasted 5 minutes doing them they’ll say “sorry, we have no more surveys available,” or something of the sort. Waste of time!

But if you do get lucky and qualify they are still low paying, you’ll typically make about $0.50 to $2.50 per survey, mostly on the lower end of that range. Each survey takes about 10 to 30 minutes, and the longer ones usually pays more.

Watching Videos

How sweet would it be to make some real money just watching videos? You can earn money watching videos on DollarClix, but don’t get too excited, you won’t earn much. The videos you’ll be watching are mostly commercial ads, and they pay you about $0.006 for about 10 minutes of ads you watch, that’s just over 1/2 a penny for 10 minutes of your time, aka you’ll be making 3 cents an hour!

Well the good thing is you can just leave it in the background and let it play on it’s own. But if you switch tabs and do other stuff then it’ll detect it and stop the ads from playing until you’ve switched back to their tab. So you either you’ll have to be sitting there staring at commercial ads for 3 cents/hr, or you can leave it playing on your computer while you physically go do other things like cooking dinner, getting groceries..etc.

Doing Offers

get paid to complete offers watch videos click ads
The “OfferWallADs” under “Offer Walls” is a good place to start

There is a section called “DollarClix Offers” and another section called “Offer Walls”. Doing offers will earn you some points, the DollarClix Offers are things like sharing a video of DollarClix, following them on Twitter, and sharing your proof of payment on a blog/website after you’ve successfully received a cash out.

The Offer Wall shows you offers from 3rd party providers. This section gives you a lot more ways to earn than the “DollarClix Offers” section. You can earn from the Offer Wall section in a variety of ways such as signing up for a free trial on a website, downloading apps, completing a survey or a test, playing games, and more.

Note: Some of the free trials may require a credit card, so you gotta read the fine print and make sure you cancel before the trial is over to avoid being charged.

Referring Others

They have an affiliate program and this is where their upsell happens. You can remain as a free member in which case you’ll earn up to 20% of your referral’s earnings, or you can pay for a higher level membership (Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond) to earn more from referrals, I do not recommend doing the latter.

Sign Up Bonus

They give you a free 10 point bonus worth $0.10 right off the bat as soon as you sign up. Although any free money is nice, 10 cents is really pathetic and stingy. Swagbucks (read review) offers new members a whole $5 for joining, now THAT is a real sign up bonus.

How Much Can You Earn?

The disappointing thing (not surprisingly) is how little you can actually make. Watching videos earn you 3 cents/hr, doing surveys earn you about $2.50 an hour assuming you even qualify which most of the time you won’t so that’s a waste of time, and offers earn you about the same as surveys but they’re more risky and may involve having to hand over credit card info.

If earning a small income is okay for you, consider checking out my list of favorite reward sites HERE. Most of them are currently giving out a $5 sign up bonus as well.

But like all other GPT and survey sites out there, you won’t be able to even come close to making enough for a good part time or full time income. If that’s why you’re interested in DollarClix, consider doing my #1 recommended way of making money online instead.

How Do You Get Paid?

Probably the most attractive thing about DollarClix is how easy it is to get your money paid out. They have a payout threshold of only $1. Payout is made via various methods such as Paypal, Tango Card, prepaid Visa, and gift cards from Amazon.

If you choose a payout via Paypal there is a 2% fee, so if you cashed out $10 the fee will be $0.20. Other GPT sites typically have thresholds much higher, typically in the $25 to $50 range.

DollarClix also sends you your payout really fast after you’ve requested it. Your first payout is going to take about 3 days, but then subsequent payouts will be processed within 24hrs.

Payment Proof

Just for fun I decided to earn a buck or two just to see if they really paid. I mostly watched videos, well, I opened up a bunch of them and just let them run on their own while I did other things. Anyways I also did some free cash offers, and overall I managed to earn about $2.33 which was paid out to me with Paypal, see payment proof below:

payment proof with paypal

It took a couple of days to earn $2.33, although they paid out really fast and I like that, this is such a big waste of time overall. I could have used this time to work on my online business to make way more than this. But if you’re just looking to have some fun and earn a few quick bucks, then DollarClix is definitely a legit way to do so.

The Negatives

It’s Only Pocket Change

The biggest negative about DollarClix is that just like all other GPT sites out there, you just can’t make much. Even if you spend many hours on the site everyday you still can’t expect to make anymore than pocket change, you’d be lucky to make about $25 a month there. It’s certainly not a wage you can live on, and if you’re serious about making money online then this is just wasting your time.

If your desire is to make a full time income online, your best bet is to start your own online business. If you don’t mind working hard for at least 3-6 months before seeing results, then this may be just what you’re looking for. To learn how to get started today, check out a free guide I wrote called How To Make REAL Money Online HERE.

Hard To Qualify For Surveys

They offer you many surveys at DollarClix, but they’re all a bunch of time wasters because you’ll mostly be filling out pre-screening surveys only to be told at the end that you don’t qualify, or that there’s no more surveys available. Those pre-screening surveys are unpaid and it’s super frustrating because you’ll be wasting so much time while earning nothing.

Final Verdict: Scam or Legit?

DollarClix pays their members and so they’re not a scam. They’re a good legit way for someone to make a very very small amount of income online, and so if you’re just looking for something to burn through time while making some pocket change, then this is for you.

If pocket change is no problem for you  then you may also want to check out what in my opinion is the #1 reward site on the internet, Swagbucks (read review,) or my other favorite reward sites.

But if you’re looking to make a more substantial income online, then forget about DollarClix and all those other similar sites, instead learn more about my #1 recommended way of making money online which is starting your own online business. I’m walking the talk as this is how I’m currently making a consistent monthly online income myself.

As mentioned earlier I have written a free guide telling you step-by-step on how to do this.  In my free I guide I’ll show you what the best online business model is, how it works, why it works so well, why it’s suitable for complete newbies, and how you can get started today. Hey Kent, I really enjoyed reading your review on Dollarclix. I got to say I didn’t really expect anything else than that. I mean if there was such a thing where you could just do surveys and become rich everybody would be doing that. I really like your no.1 recommendation. I’m a Wealthy Affiliate member myself and I can say they really deliver.

    • Author - Kent Leung says:

Yeah, any site that says you can get rich for doing very little are always scams. If you want to achieve something that very little people have (freedom, financial security), you’re going to have to do the hard work that few people are willing to do, and that’s spending the time and effort to actually build an online business.

Hello Kent, your post is right on. I to have tried the online survey and video deals. Like you I find you put in too much time and make very little money.

Another thing I found was about the time you were to finish up your survey they would kick you off with a message that you were not qualified for this survey. Could have told me sooner!

Do you think the seven day trial period for Wealthy Affiliate is enough time to make an educated decision on if it is right for you? A lot of good information here. THX Wayne

    • Author - Kent Leung says:

Hi Wayne, I think 7 days is more than enough to get a feel of whether it’s right for you or not. Personally it didn’t take me very long, after 2 days into the trial I was already hooked on how vast the amount of training was offered on the platform and upgraded to premium, then 2 months later I upgraded to yearly because I knew I wanted to do this for the long term, and by paying yearly I’m saving nearly 50%!
