Is Survey Squad Legit? Don’t Join Till You Read This Review!

paid surveys focus groups phone interviews

So there is a survey site called Survey Squad that pays you to give your opinions, there are many survey sites out there and this one is a bit different so I thought I’d cover it here in this review.

Currently only USA residents can become members. In addition to online surveys they also offer live in-per interviews and focus groups where you can earn around $100 to $200 for about 30-45 minutes of your time (only upon qualifying). Although Survey Squad is legit, I would advise against joining them.

The reason is because Survey Squad pays really slow, only via mailed check. There are plenty of better survey sites out there that pays via Paypal and other electronic methods that takes just 1-2 days at most to pay, so there’s no reason to join Survey Squad.

But if you’d still like to check out Survey Squad and see how it all works, then read on…

Tired Of Scams Or Not Earning Enough?

Intro – Survey Squad Review

Name: Survey Squad
Type: Paid survey site
Membership Price: Free To Join
My Rating: 1.9 out of 5

get paid to fill out surveys give your opinion

So I rated Survey Squad a 1.9 out of 5 and honestly they’re just not the best. They’re not a scam, but they do have many flaws and I don’t recommend them.

Their online surveys aren’t anything special from the ones you’d find on any other survey sites out there. The main problem as always is needing to qualify to take the paid survey. To qualify you need to pass some screening questions that’ll take about 5-10 minutes, you don’t get paid if you don’t qualify.

How often you qualify depends on your demographics, but from my own experience and reading other people’s experiences online I can tell you that for most people qualifying is hard and rare.

The worst thing about them is how slow their payments are, only by check. What century are we in? Who has got the patience these days to wait 2-4 weeks for a slow ass check to get mailed and cleared at the bank?

If you want to take online surveys for money I recommend you check out these top survey sites, I have reviewed them already and they are all legit and many pay via Paypal and gift cards.

Earning Money – How Does Survey Squad Work?

Since Survey Squad only accepts members from the USA, you’d have to be American to sign up for an account. Survey Squad is what I’d call a pure survey site, meaning you earn by doing surveys and giving your opinions in some way, nothing else.

You can either earn by taking surveys via email invitation, or participate in focus groups and in-person or telephone interviews. You will be sent an email if there’s any surveys or interviews & focus groups in your local area that may suit you. You can also follow Survey Squad’s Twitter account for all current interview and focus group opportunities nationwide.

The regular online surveys typically take 10 to 30 minutes to complete (if you qualify) and pays about $0.50 to $3. The focus groups and in-person or telephone interviews can take anywhere from 45 minutes to 3-5 days and pay $75 to $200+.

Entering Sweepstakes

For every survey you do, even if you don’t qualify, you’ll get one entry into a monthly sweepstakes with the chance to win some cash prizes. If you qualify for the survey you may get more entries in the sweepstakes in addition to the paid survey.

This is like the only positive thing about Survey Squad so far, but sweepstakes are basically just a lotto draw and chances of winning anything significant is very unlikely.

More Ways To Earn…

Did you know that there are other sites out there called get-paid-to (GPT) sites that also let you take surveys for cash, but also let you earn doing other things as well such as reading emails, playing games, watching cat videos, and more?

My favorite GPT site is Swagbucks (read review) because they offer plenty of fun/easy ways to earn and pays their members quickly via Paypal and other methods. In fact Swagbucks has paid over $165 million to their members since 2008!

How Does Survey Squad Pay You?

payment methods check donate

As mentioned earlier they only pay via check, and you need to earn a minimum amount of $20 before they pay. You also have the option to donate your earnings to one of the charity options provided by Survey Squad. I don’t blame you if you’re not impressed…

I highly recommend you check out get-paid-to sites like Swagbucks (read review) instead for more ways to earn and faster payments.

The Good

  • Even if you don’t qualify for surveys you’ll still get a chance to win cash prizes with their monthly sweepstakes

The Bad

  • Only opened to people in the USA
  • Rarely qualify for surveys, so you’ll end up wasting a crap load of time on screening questions
  • Very low earning potential as a result of the above point
  • No paid referral program (but they encourage you to get your friends/family to join!)
  • Only pay by check

Final Verdict: Is Survey Squad Legit?

Yes, Survey Squad is legit but I think there are much better survey sites out there. I don’t think they’re offering anything special here, and there’s really no reason I can think of why you should join them at all.

Surveys are typically hard to qualify for and so you won’t earn much, and they make it worse by only offering a mailed check as a payout option. They don’t even offer a paid referral program like most other survey sites do.

If you want to make money doing surveys then you’re way better off with paid-to sites like Swagbucks (read review) instead or check out my list of recommended top survey sites here

But either way survey sites, paid-to sites, and other similar things only let you make a small insignificant income, don’t expect to make more than $10 to $50 per month doing them.
