Points2Shop is a get-paid-to site that pays you to do a bunch of easy things like taking surveys, doing offers, playing games, referring others, and more. They are a bit different from other similar sites like Swagbucks and Inbox Pays so I thought I’d talk about it here in this Points2Shop review.
So what do I mean by “different”? Is Points2Shop a scam or legit? They’re not a scam, but unfortunately they have a really lame point/cash system which I dislike. I’ll go over this in more detail later on.
Overall this isn’t a terrible paid-to site, but they have some annoying features that may bother some people. So without further ado let’s dive right into it.
Tired Of Scams Or Not Earning Enough?
Intro – Points2Shop Review
Type: Paid-to site
Membership Price: Free
My Rating: 1.8 out of 5
So I rated Points2Shop a 1.8 out of 5 and that’s not a good score. It’s not because they’re a scam or don’t pay, they DO pay, but their site is very confusing and the point/cash system is a pain the arse.
Basically there are many ways to earn, some pay in “cash” and some pay in “points,” and you cannot redeem points for cash but you can turn cash to points. Points are worth approximately $0.01 USD each.
Your points can only be exchanged for goods on Amazon or redeemed for Amazon and Visa gift cards. Cash can be withdrawn via Paypal and other methods. But points can’t be converted to cash, so if you have a bunch of points then you can’t cash out via Paypal…
But on the plus side they do have some good ways to earn those points/cash, let’s look at them below:
How Do You Earn Money At Points2Shop?
In the survey section you’ll find a bunch of available surveys for you to take. Typically they pay around 20 to 300 points, but you’ll see exactly how much each one pays before you take them.
These surveys are provided by 3rd party sites, and as usual with all survey sites you’ll need to qualify for them first in order to take the paid survey itself. You may spend a lot of time filling out unpaid screening surveys, so I don’t recommend you do this.
What is an “offer”? It’s basically paid to sign up. There are offers that are both free and ones that require your financial involvement.
For example a free offer typically is just filling out a form with your email, name, and other info. These ones typically pay $0.25 to $2 and are pretty easy to do.
The paid offers pay a lot more, typically $2 to $10, and they may require you to make a purchase at a 3rd party site. You may also have to sign up to a free trial with your credit card info, but this is technically free since you can cancel before the trial period.
In the games section there is currently 3 available games: Spin2win, TriPeaks Solitaire, and Number Limbo.
To play the Spin2win you need to earn tokens by earning points/cash on Points2Shop. The game is just spinning a wheel to win prizes. With the other 2 games you need to spend points as entrance fees to play against other people. You can win some money doing this but it’s a bit of a gamble in my view.
Points2Shop have their own app which you can download in the Google Play or Apple App. You will earn $0.10 if you download this app, and this app also unlock more ways to earn.
There is a referral program at Points2Shop and you can earn 15% of whatever your referrals earn for life. Just take your referral link or banner and spread the word, anyone who joins under your unique link is your referral.
The referral program is also 3-tiers deep, meaning not only do you get to earn via your referrals (15%), but also you earn from your referral’s referral (3%), and their referrals (2%)!
At Points2Shop there are “Honor Levels” where the more active members move up levels to unlock more earning potential and faster payments via INSTANT Paypal payments.
There are currently 7 levels you can achieve: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Elite, Diamond, Legend.
For the full benefits of each level check out this page here.
Receiving Your Earnings
Like I said before the points/cash system is very annoying. Basically if you have points you can only redeem from the points store and if you have cash you can either redeem them in the cash store or turn them into points…but you can’t turn points into cash.
If you have points you can redeem via…
- Amazon products in various categories
- Amazon gift cards (starts at 2500 points)
- Virtual prepaid Visa (starts at 550 points)
If you have cash you can redeem via…
- Paypal (minimum $1)
- Amazon gift cards (minimum $5)
- Virtual Visa cards (minimum $5)
- Other $5 gift cards (Home Depot, Walmart, Best Buy, and more)
What I Dislike…
Can’t Convert Points To Cash
What if you have earned $50 worth of points from doing surveys and you want that money in your Paypal account? You can’t do it, because you can’t convert points to cash and Paypal is not a payout method listed in the points redemption store. They do have virtual visa and Amazon gift cards, but I rather get it via Paypal where I can use it however I like.
If you prefer to join sites that let you convert points to cash via Paypal then check out Swagbucks (read review) and Inbox Pays (read review) instead. Also check out these other paid-to sites that all pay via Paypal.
Just Extra Income
You can only earn a little money on this site, so don’t expect to become a full time survey taker. All their ways to earn are pretty low paying, but as long as you’re not expecting to get rich doing it then you should be fine.
Maybe some of you are looking for a full time income opportunity, if so then ditch these paid-to sites (they’re ALL low paying) and check out my #1 recommended way of making money online instead.
Final Verdict: Is Points2Shop a Scam?
Points2Shop is definitely legit and not a scam, but I think there are much better paid-to sites out there. The main problem I have with them is that they don’t let you convert points to cash and this limits how you can get your earnings.
Also there aren’t really that many ways to earn. The surveys and offers are okay, but the games require a “entrance fee” and you may still lose, and referring others is kind of hard if you don’t have a popular blog or social media page.
I prefer other sites like Swagbucks (read review) and Inbox Pays (read review) where there are better ways to earn and you can turn your points into Paypal cash. Also both those sites give you a $5 sign up bonus which Points2Shop doesn’t offer.
