What Is Peanut Labs?

Peanut Labs is a company that provides paid surveys from leading brands and research firms, they started up back in 2007 and are based in San Francisco, California.

Peanut Labs works pretty differently from the typical survey site. Their surveys and cash offers are not offered on their website directly, but instead can be accessed via 3rd party partnered sites like Swagbucks, Inbox Dollars, etc.

How Does Peanut Labs Work?

If you head over to Peanut Labs’ website you’ll see a “Get Started Today” button but it’s not for survey takers, it’s for people who run survey sites/apps and want to integrate with Peanut Labs.

How it works is that these 3rd party websites/apps partner with Peanut Labs. So let’s say you join a “get-paid-to” site like Swagbucks where you’ll see a survey/offer section, those surveys and offers are not provided by Swagbucks themselves but by companies like Peanut Labs.

Earn Money Taking Surveys

answering surveys multiple choice questions

Once you’ve joined a survey site or “get-paid-to” site you can access their “surveys” or “offers” section where you’ll see a list of companies supplying them, one of those companies will be Peanut Labs. Just click on the company where they’ll connect you with an available survey.

Their surveys typically pay anywhere between $0.25 to $1 and take about 10-20 minutes to complete. Forget about doing this for a living, this is less than minimum wage in any western country!

Before you take the actual survey you’ll have to complete a 2-3 minute screening questionnaire to see if you qualify for the survey. If you don’t qualify then you can try another one.

How often you qualify depends on your demographics, but if you’re like most people then you won’t qualify something like 9 times out of 10, and therefore a lot of time is wasted on answering those screening questions which are unpaid.

If you do qualify for the survey you’ll get to complete it and get paid. They will let you know exactly how much the survey pays and how long it takes to complete it before you start it.

Completing Marketing Offers

save money shopping marketing offers

Marketing offers are where you can earn money by engaging with brands and advertisers. So for example an offer could be downloading a new game app and playing it until you reach a certain level, entering a prize draw with your email, signing up for a free product trial, and a bunch of other things.

There are both free and paid offers. Free offers pay around $0.25 to $1.25 and usually just require you fill in a sign up sheet, download a free app, or answer some simple questions.

Paid offers pay much more, usually $2-$10+ but will require you to spend money first. For example signing up for an online Casino and making a deposit, or making a purchase at another website. You can still make money with paid offers, but you just have to make sure that the offer pays more than it takes you to complete them.

The good thing about offers is that there are no screening questionnaires, so you’re guaranteed to earn something for your time.

If you’d like to take surveys or complete marketing offers right now I recommend you join my Favorite “Get-Paid-To” Sites where you’ll find surveys and offers from Peanut Labs.

Monthly Earning Potential

Because of the low paying nature of surveys and offers it isn’t possible to make a full time income from them. At most you can make a good little spare cash every month, something like $25 to $50 is reasonable to expect, maybe $100-$200 at most if you’re able to join multiple sites and put in a lot of time and effort.

I highly recommend you forget about taking surveys but instead just do the offers. Surveys is a waste of time in my experience because of not qualifying most of the time and having to waste a lot of unpaid time on those screening questionnaires.

But either way this is only extra income and nothing more. There’s a reason that these “get-paid-to” sites have a nickname, “Beer Money Sites,” because they are all low paying.

If you want to make a more substantial type of income I recommend you to see my Top Work At Home Recommendation instead which is a top-rated training platform that taught me how to earn $1000+ per month with a blogging business.

Peanut Labs Advantages

  • Cost nothing to join
  • Available to 29 countries including USA, Canada, Australia, UK, Germany, and more.

Peanut Labs Complaints

  • Both surveys and marketing offers are very low paying
  • Surveys are hard to qualify for
  • Some offers cost more money to do than it pays, so if you’re not careful you can lose money

Is Peanut Labs a Scam or Legit?

Peanut Labs is not a scam, they’ve been around since 2007 and have paid out over $100 million to their millions of members. Their surveys/offers are legitimate money making opportunities for people who have a little spare time and want to share their opinions.

If you are interested in earning a small extra income with them I recommend you join my Favorite “Get-Paid-To” Sites.

With that being said you shouldn’t treat this as a job, these things pay less than minimum wage and you’ll feel like you’re wasting your time. I used to do surveys and offers but then I found a much better way to make money online which I’ll share with you below.

For me, Peanut Labs is more of a scam than legit. Aside from the fact that it pays so little amount in every successful survey you participated in, it is very annoying. My experience in taking surveys with this app was so disgusting. After giving all your required details, most of the time I was not qualified to take the survey for no obvious reasons. Participating in this survey is a total waste of time and effort.

Hey Arturo, thanks for sharing your thoughts on Peanut Labs. Surveys are notoriously hard to qualify for and so that’s why I recommend you do the marketing offers instead where there’s no annoying qualifications in order to earn.

I can see that although the platform is real, and has been in business for quite some time, it is not the best use of your time. As you say, quite a bit of work and time is required to make $100 to $200 a month.

I think of time as money. By this I mean you can spend hours making this $100-$200, or you can spend that time working to create 3, 4, or more than that. Affiliate marketing, drop shipping, selling online courses, or selling other digital products or services can do this.

So although your final verdict is that this is not a scam, and I agree with you, you also recommend putting your effort into something that will get you more income with that time, which is also what I agree with. If you don’t want to apply yourself and learn new things, the Peanut Labs might do, and it apparently has worked since it has paid out over $100 million!

Hey Dave, it depends on what your goals are. Some people have full time jobs they’re content with and aren’t looking for any serious source of income, they just want to have some fun on the internet and excited to see that they can actually earn real money. $100-$200 a month would be a great bit of extra cash they can help pay for groceries, pizza delivery, movie nights, etc.

But yeah if you’re looking for that opportunity to quit your 9 to 5 you’re better off looking at more serious ventures like Affiliate Marketing and the other ones you mentioned.

I’ve had experience with Peanut Labs in the past through Swagbucks when I would try to qualify for their surveys. I hardly ever qualified and the ones I did were 30 minutes or longer and usually only paid out under $5. It might not be a scam, but it is definitely a waste of most people’s time. Thank you for the informative article.

Yeah if you’re looking for a real income it’s definitely a waste of time. But if you were to spend 30 minutes on a survey and earn $2.50 and you’re just doing this for fun, then it could be a good way to rake in some lunch money for work or help pay for your coffee in the morning.
