What Is Opinion City?

Opinion City is a site that provides paid survey opportunities. They claim to connect you with top market researchers for surveys and help you make money from the comfort of your own home.

But one thing you need to be aware of is that Opinion City is not a “real” survey site, meaning they don’t actually provide you with surveys themselves, all they do is give you a list of other survey sites (real ones) that you can join, these sites will actually provide you with surveys you can take to earn money.

Opinion City is just a middle man that points you to other sites to join, they do this because they earn a commission for referring you to those sites. But making money by referring people isn’t a bad thing, that’s how affiliate marketing works and I do it too on this blog. The question is whether the sites they recommend are any good?

Are The Sites On Their List Any Good?

When you go to Opinion City’s website you’ll see a list of survey sites that they recommend you to join. You’ll have the opportunity to read their short review on the survey site before you join:

On the full review page there will be information on the survey site such as how much their survey pays, the length of surveys, and what payment methods are offered. If you do decide to join there will be a “Click Here To Join” button, when you join the survey site through that button Opinion City earns an affiliate commission for referring you.

I looked at Opinion City’s list of survey sites I did recognize some sites I’ve done reviews on before such as Panda Research and Springboard America, I’ve rated both those sites really low and they’re not worth joining by the way! They have really high payout minimums and don’t offer that many earning opportunities.

I did notice Survey Junkie on their list which is one of the sites I do recommend because their payout minimum is much lower. But on a whole I think that the sites on Opinion City’s list isn’t really that good.

Another thing is that many of their links seem to be broken or not working properly. For example when I clicked on the “Click Here To Join” button for Panda Research it just took me to some random website asking me to participate for a chance to win a 65” flatscreen Smart TV.

Facebook $50 Weekly Drawing

subscribe to newsletter for $50 weekly drawing

If you look on the right hand side of Opinion City’s website there is a section asking to you subscribe to their newsletter to be entered into a weekly $50 drawing on Facebook.

You’ll have to enter your name and email and also tick a box and agree to receive emails from Opinion City on other promotions and offers. After subscribing you’ll be taken to another page with more survey sites, there is no mention of the $50 weekly draw anywhere!

Who knows whether this $50 weekly draw actually takes place or not? But it appears that the whole purpose of this section is for them to grab your email so they can continually send you more of their promotions. If you hate spam email this could become very annoying to keep receiving their emails.

Why I Don’t Recommend Online Surveys

Personally I dislike survey sites because it’s a big waste of time. Most of the surveys that you’ll complete are very low paying, usually around $0.25 to $1 to complete a 10 to 15 minute survey. But that’s not even the main problem, the main problem is that you have to qualify in order to take and complete them.

They’ll let you start the survey, but for the first 5 minutes or so you’ll be answering a bunch of screening questions to see if you’re the right candidate to take that survey.

According to my own experience and many others the vast majority of the time you’ll be told that you don’t qualify, this means you’ll have wasted your time for nothing. If you don’t qualify you don’t get paid for the time you already spent answering those screening questions.

Even if you do qualify for the survey there’s still a chance that you’ll get kicked out of the survey halfway into it. You see, surveys have a specific quota and once they’ve received enough responses they will close the survey, anyone still in the process of filling it out will be kicked out with no pay!

Join “Get-Paid-To” Sites Instead

Instead of joining “pure” survey sites which are sites that only offer surveys, I recommend that you check out “get-paid-to” sites instead. These sites offer many different activities you can do to earn money, including surveys.

Some other common ways to earn include watching advertisement videos, playing games, downloading apps, clicking ads, and more. These other tasks doesn’t have any qualifying screeners, so you’re guaranteed to earn something for your time.

I highly recommend that you check out all the Top “Get-Paid-To” Sites that I recommend. These sites have paid me before so I know they’re legit and will pay you too.

Is Opinion City Legit Or a Scam?

Opinion City is definitely not in the category of a scam, they’re a legit site that compiles a list of survey sites for you to join. In my opinion many of the sites of their list is just okay, the main problem is all of them are “pure” survey sites, it’s better to join sites that offer multiple ways to earn.

Although Opinion City is legit, they’re just a middle man affiliate who gives you a list of actual survey sites with surveys. These surveys on their list aren’t exclusive in any way, anyone can join them and you don’t need Opinion City’s at all. So why not just join these sites directly?

Better Ways To Make Money Online

Surveys are a very popular way to make money online from home, but they’re a pretty terrible way to earn because most of the time you won’t qualify for them and waste a lot of time answering prequalifying questions for nothing.

I recommend you check out my Favorite “Get-Paid-To” Sites where you’ll find plenty of other paid activities you can do such as completing cash offers, reading emails, playing games, watching videos, and much more. Some of these tasks pay similar to surveys but there’s no qualifying needed so you’re guaranteed to earn.

Surveys and these other activities aren’t going to make you wealthy because they all pay a laughably small amount of money, at most you’ll be making maybe $25 to $50 per month doing these things.

If you’re looking to make a more substantial part time or full time income online, a legit chance to build an online business where you’re your own boss, then I recommend you check out my Top Work At Home Recommendation where I’ll show you a strategy I personally use to make $1000+ per month.

If you follow my top recommendation correctly it’s totally possible to make enough money to replace your current day job, but it’s not a get-rich-quick scheme, it’s a legit business that takes time and effort to build so be prepared to put in the sweat and tears and don’t expect the cash to roll in overnight.

That’s all I got for this Opinion City, what are your thoughts on them? Do you think it’s worth it or are they unnecessary? Let me know what you think in the comments below.
