If you’re someone looking to start a business and become your own boss then this may seem like a tempting proposition. But is Kyani a scam? Are they just another time wasting pyramid scheme to avoid?
I’m not affiliated with them in any way, I’m just here to share with you my honest and unbiased opinions, at the end of this review you can be the judge of whether it’s right for you or not.
Let’s get started!

Type: MLM (multi-level marketing)

What Is Kyani?
Kyani is a MLM (multi-level marketing) company in the health and wellness niche, they sell a bunch of different nutritional supplement products. In this review I’ll only briefly go over their products, the main focus of this review will be on their business opportunity to create an income.
Kyani was founded in 2005 and are based in Idaho, USA. They currently hold an A+ rating on the Better Business Bureau (BBB) website, most of their customer reviews appear to be positive as well. But BBB ratings and reviews aren’t 100% reliable, so take that with a grain of salt.
Kyani sells various vitamins and nutritional supplements, their 3 main products are: Kyani Sunset, Kyani Sunrise, and Kyani Nitro. These supplements are made from extracts of 22 superfoods including Alaskan Blueberries, Wild Alaskan Salmon, and more.
They come with a wide variety of vitamins and minerals for optimal nutrition and health. Here is a brief summary of their main product line:
- Kyani Sunset – Designed to be taken before going to sleep at night. It’s made with a blend of tocotrienols (a form of Vitamin E), Beta Carotene, Vitamin D, and Omega-3 fatty acids. This supplement can be used to reduce inflammation, improve hair and skin health, and improve cognitive function.
- Kyani Sunrise – Designed to be taken… you guessed it, in the morning when you get up. It’s made with extracts from 22 superfoods like blueberries, pomegranate, Panax ginseng, amla berry, red raspberry, and more. This supplement can be used to keep your heart healthy, improve immune system, improve digestion, boost energy, improve mental health and cognitive function.
- Kyani Nitro – This last one is to be taken 2-3 times a day. It’s made from extracts of the noni fruit, an exotic Southeast Asian fruit that helps your body produce Nitric Oxide which promotes health circulation and helps your body to better absorb nutrients.
Become a Kyani Business Partner
If you’re ready to start making money with Kyani you can join them as a Business Partner, this means becoming a distributor of their products. You can also earn income by recruiting others to do the same.
Their opportunity is nothing new or unique, there are hundreds of other MLM companies that works just like them. If you’ve ever heard of LifeVantage, Xyngular, or My Daily Choice, it works in very similar ways.
So what are the startup costs for this business opportunity?
First of all you’ll need to purchase their Welcome Kit which costs $89.00. Buying this kit will allow you access to their products at wholesale pricing, you’ll also receive general startup tools such as a new distributor folder and access to a digital suite.
From there you’ll also need to choose a Business Package which costs $499.00 for the regular one or $999.00 for the premium one. These packages contain products, brochures, web tools, and a registration kit. The premium package is more expensive because it contains more products.
In addition there’s also a monthly product purchase requirement called Auto-Ship, you must spend at least 150QV which is about $210.00 worth of products in order to qualify to earn sales commissions and bonuses.
Most MLMs have some kind of Auto-Ship requirement and it’s how they get inventory moving, but it’s a pain in the ass because if you don’t make enough sales then you’ll have to store unsold inventory which is a waste of money and space!
Kyani’s Compensation Plan
As a Kyani Business Partner (distributor) you’ll have 2 main ways to creating an income under their compensation plan:
- Selling Products – This is the most obvious way to earn and it’s the easiest to understand. As a distributor you’ll have access to Kyani products at discounted wholesale prices, you sell them back to customers at retail prices and the difference is your profit. For example, the Kyani Sunset costs $35.95 for distributors but the retail price is $43.95, so you’ll earn $8.00 profit on that sale.
- Recruiting New Distributors – Just like other MLMs the Kyani compensation plan allows you to earn more by recruiting a downline and profit from their sales and efforts.
There are many different rank levels, the first level you can reach is Garnet and it goes all the way up to Purple Diamond as the highest level. Basically the higher your rank level the more money you can earn, you move up ranks by selling more products as recruiting more people.
There are plenty of different bonuses, prizes, travel incentives, and even car allowances you can earn. For example if you manage to reach the Garnet rank level in your first 30 days then you’ll earn a $100 bonus.

Is Kyani a Pyramid Scheme?
Kyani is a MLM company, not a pyramid scheme. A lot of people get the two mixed up because their compensation structures are quite similar but with one distinctive difference.
With MLMs you can earn income by selling products as well as by recruiting new members, but with pyramid schemes the only way to earn is by constantly recruiting and there are no actual products to sell.
Pyramid schemes are illegal while MLMs are legit. However, in my opinion MLMs are just what I call “pyramid schemes in disguise” this is because recruiting new members is often a big part of their compensation structure. If you look at the big earners in any MLM company they almost always have recruited a big team.
How Much Are Kyani Distributors Earning?
The short answer is… not much! Yes, Kyani is a legit MLM company but that doesn’t mean their opportunity is going to work out well for you. I will prove to you below that this business opportunity is probably going to be a waste of time and energy for most people.
Just take a look at Kyani’s USA Income Disclosure Statement which basically shows how much money their active USA distributors earned in the year Sept 1st 2014 to Aug 31st 2015, and the numbers are really low!
Active distributors are those who have made at least one purchase in the last 12 months, while distributors who have made no purchases in 24 months are cancelled.
Here is a screenshot of it:
As you can see from above, the monthly average earnings are really low for the majority of active distributors. Let me explain a little bit on what this all means.
If you look at the percentages it doesn’t add up to 100%, it only adds up to 24.44% total. This means that 75.56% of their active distributors couldn’t even make it to the lowest rank level which is Garnet and therefore earning less than $74 a month!
Only at the Ruby level do people start making $3,569 a month which is what I’d consider a good full time income, but that’s only 0.46% of total active distributors.
So yes, there are people making good money with Kyani’s business opportunity but they are few and far in between. Unless you’ve got some exceptional selling/recruiting skills, chances are you won’t be one of them.
I highly recommend you check out my Top Work At Home Recommendation instead which is a LOT easier to succeed in than MLMs, it’s the same strategy I currently use on this blog to earn $1000+ a month. It’s even free to start and newbie friendly!
Is Kyani a Scam?
Nope, I wouldn’t call them a scam. Obviously it’s a legit MLM business opportunity where a small percentage of people are able to earn a significant amount of income, those people obviously have some extraordinary skills and are very good at selling and recruiting a big successful team.
However, if you’re just the average person you probably won’t make anything worthwhile and it’s probably just going to be a big waste of your time, money, and energy.
The results of Kyani are quite typical as MLMs are notoriously hard to succeed at, check out this report done for the FTC which basically says that 99% of MLM businesses fail! That’s a pretty high failure rate.
I recommend that you forget about MLMs and learn to start a blogging business instead where your odds of succeeding are MUCh higher. It’s the same thing I’m doing right now to make 4-figures a month, and I’ll teach you how you can do it too.
Build a Blogging Business Instead
Back in December of 2016 I discovered a training platform that teaches people on how to start a blog and earn full time income from it by promoting other people’s products and services as an affiliate marketer.
Affiliate marketing is much better than MLMs in a few ways:
- No need to sell products or recruit a team, just recommend products on your blog
- Promote ANYTHING you want, you’re not tied to just one MLM company and their products
- No annoying monthly auto-ship costs
- Startup costs are MUCH lower
The training platform I found is called Wealthy Affiliate and under their training I’ve built this very website you’re on right now which is currently earning me $1,000+ per month which continues to grow.
I’m not living a lavish lifestyle just yet, but I do know that their training works. Anyone can do what I do if they follow the proper training and have the right mindset. If you want to learn how to start your own full time blogging business then click the link below where I’ll show you how step-by-step:
Building a blogging business does take time and is not something you can succeed at overnight, it took me 2 years to get to where I’m at today. Even though it’s a slow way to make money, in my opinion it’s the BEST way. Since a blog is live 24/7 that means you can earn money even while doing other things like traveling, sleeping, cooking, etc.
If you’re not ready to start your own blog yet then that’s okay, there are many other ways to earn income online. I recommend you check out my Favorite “Get-Paid-To” Sites which are sites that pay you to take surveys, view ads, play games, download apps, and more. These sites won’t make you rich, but they do pay!
That’s the end of my Kyani review, if you have any questions or comments leave them down below.
I’m a regular person who started this website in Sept 2017 to help people in making money online. I envision my own success from helping you become successful. My goal is to help you create a consistent online income, let’s make that money!
