KnowledgePanel Review

Name: KnowledgePanel
Type: Paid surveys site
Membership Price: $0 FREE

the opportunity to be heard

KnowledgePanel is a paid surveys site that started up way back in 1999 by two Stanford University professors, and they’re owned by a company called GfK Custom Research North America.

The opinions collected from surveys are used by companies, TV and news networks, universities, and other places to help understand the current trends on many topics such as new products, opinions on politics, entertainment, sports, and more. In exchange for your time, survey takers get paid real cash for it. Unfortunately there’s no Paypal cash payments, only check.

They appear to be a legit site, but there’s no reason to join them in my opinion because at other sites like Swagbucks they offer you plenty of more ways to earn such as by watching videos and playing games, plus they also pay with Paypal.

How KnowledgePanel ACTUALLY Works

How To Sign Up For KnowledgePanel?

KnowledgePanel is a surveys site exclusive to USA residents who have been invited to join, you can’t join from any other country. You also have to be at least 13 to join, and if you’re under 18 you need parental consent.

If you’ve been invited then you’ll have the code which you’ll need to sign up. Once you signed up they’ll give you a one-time introductory survey worth $10. From there you can begin to take regular surveys.

Every year they randomly choose American households and send them invitations to join, if you didn’t receive an invitation to join KnowledgePanel then forget them and check out these top “get-paid-to” sites instead.

Taking Surveys

Although their membership is exclusive, their surveys work pretty much like every other survey site out there. You get about 3-4 survey invitations via email every month, just click the link in the email and it’ll take you to the actual survey itself. Each survey only takes 5-15 minutes to do and by completing them you’ll receive 1000 points which is worth $1 USD.

No Computer? No Internet? No Problem!

You’ll still need a computer with internet connection to take surveys, but if you don’t have a computer KnowledgePanel actually gives you one! They’ll also provide you with dial up phone internet, lol. This is the first surveys site I’ve ever heard of that gives their survey takers a free computer to use…. well, you have to give it back if you quit using the survey site, so it’s definitely borrowed.

Can You Take Surveys For a Living?

You wouldn’t be able to take surveys for a living even if you lived in a third world country! I review a lot of survey sites on this blog, most sites you can only earn around $10 a month on it. At KnowledgePanel it’s no different, you’ll get $1 USD per survey, and they say they’ll send you about 3-4 surveys a month, so you do the math.

Surveys are also annoying in general because sometimes they’ll ask you a few screening questions only to tell you that you don’t qualify. That’s why I recommend you check out Swagbucks instead where there’s loads of other ways to earn where no qualifying is needed. If you spend time doing tasks, you’ll get paid for sure.

How Do You Get Paid?

KnowledgePanel pays you in points but those can be converted to real rewards such as cash or gift cards. Once you’ve collected 25,000 points you can receive a $25 check through the mail, you can also get gift cards such as a VISA prepaid card.

You can also redeem your points for various physical merchandise in their rewards catalog, or even use the points to enter a sweepstakes for a (low, very low) chance of winning a big prize.

Unfortunately they don’t offer Paypal cash payments, but luckily for you I’ve compiled a list of survey sites that DO pay with Paypal.

KnowledgePanel Problems

Can’t Join If Outside USA

KnowledgePanel collects opinions from random people, but they’re only interested in those random people from USA households. If you’re outside the USA then feel free to check out my #1 Recommendation instead which accepts all countries.

By invitation Only

This isn’t a surveys site like Swagbucks where anyone can just go on their website, fill in a sign up form, then be well on your way to start earning cash. No, with KnowledgePanel if you didn’t get an invitation to join from them then you won’t be able to join.

No Paypal Payments

Here’s where I got a real problem with KnowledgePanel. It’s cool that they offer cash payments via check, it’s better than nothing but it’s 2018 at the time I’m writing this post, and who the hell’s got the patience in this day and age to wait 4-6 weeks for a slow ass check that’s only $25?? Another reason to check out these sites that pay with Paypal instead.

Only Extra Income

It’s not like you’ll get that many earning opportunities. They say they’ll send you a survey every week or so, so that’s maybe 4 a month. Each survey earns you 1000 points which is the equivalent to $1 USD. You’ll probably make $4 USD a month, so don’t expect to quit your full time job just yet.

If you’re serious about making some sort of full time income online then you’ll have to forget about these survey sites and learn how to build an online affiliate marketing business instead where your earning potential is unlimited.

Is KnowledgePanel a Scam?

In my research I’ve found KnowledgePanel to be scam free, but they are far from the best. They have many restrictions such as you’ll have to be from the USA, you need an invitation, they only offer a few surveys a month, and also they don’t even pay cash with Paypal and instead you have to wait 4-6 weeks for a check to get mailed out and for it to get cleared by your bank.

Even if you got invited to join, I highly recommend you forget about them and check out better sites like Swagbucks instead where there’s plenty more ways to earn, more payment options including Paypal, and you can join without needing some annoying invitation code.
