e Rewards Review

Name: e Rewards
Website: e-rewards.com
Type: Paid surveys
Membership Price: Free To Join
My Rating: 1.8 out of 5

get paid to do surveys online

e Rewards is actually one of the bigger and older survey sites out there, they’ve been around since 1999 and they are a subsidiary of Research Now which is an online market research company.

People tend to think older sites are more trustworthy but that’s not always the case. In recent years e Rewards have racked up many negative reviews, their parent company’s BBB rating is negatively affected by e Rewards members complaining about getting their accounts shut down and earnings taken for no apparent reason.

If you’re looking for more reputable sites to join the top ones I usually recommend are Swagbucks, Inbox Pays, and Cash Crate.

Earning Money – How Does e Rewards Work?

Who Can Sign Up?

Signing up is completely free, but you won’t find a “join now” button on e Rewards because membership is by invite only. If you’re a customer of one of the partners of e Rewards then you may receive an email with an invitation link, you can sign up through that link.

Taking Surveys

Once you have joined you will then be invited to do surveys by email. If you qualify for and complete the survey then you’ll earn e Rewards currency points, these points can later be redeemed for real rewards like gift cards and air miles.

Surveys are provided by 3rd party companies who are doing market research for their products, they want to use the opinions of  their target demographic to improve their products, and they’re willing to pay you for your opinions.

Earning Potential

In general surveys are low paying and they typically pay $0.25 to $2 each and take 10-20 minutes to do. You’ll also have to answer unpaid screening questions first to see if you qualify, this can take up a lot of additional time without compensation.

e Rewards offer only surveys, so you won’t earn much doing just one thing. Unlike these “get-paid-to” sites where there are endless ways to earn like by reading emails, watching videos, downloading apps, doing offers, and more.

e Rewards Payment Methods

The minimum payout threshold is $60 in e Rewards currency, which equals to a $25 gift card. So just to make it clear, e Rewards currency of $1 does not equal $1 in real money! Each dollar in e Rewards currency is only equal to about $0.41 in real money. Confusing, right?

You can use your e Rewards earnings and redeem them for gift cards, airline tickets, hotels, restaurants, magazine subscriptions, and much more. Some choices include Best Buy, Aeroplan, MileagePlus, Denny’s, Omaha Steaks, and American Airlines.

Unfortunately they don’t pay you with check or Paypal so there’s no way to turn those e Rewards currency into actual spending cash in the bank. If you want cash then check out these extra income sites that pay with Paypal

The Positives

  • Since e Rewards is by invite only, this means members get surveys that are more exclusive which sometimes mean it’s higher paying than industry averages
  • Joining is free and you don’t need to pay any fees
  • Membership is opened internationally

The Negatives

  • You have to be invited to join, you can’t just go on the e Rewards website to sign up
  • Only offers one way to earn as opposed to multiple ways like these “get-paid-to” sites
  • Does not offer cash payment methods like check or Paypal
  • e Rewards currency and real money is worth unevenly which makes it confusing
  • Lots of negative reviews on forums left by angry members complaining about accounts being revoked and earnings being taken for no apparent reason

Final Verdict: Is e Rewards a Scam?

I wouldn’t call e Rewards a scam, despite some negative reviews overall they do seem to be legit and do pay their members. Most of the negative reviews has to do with accounts being shut down and rewards taken, but one important thing to keep in mind is that we don’t know what really happened. Maybe it was an honest error, maybe the member broke some rules, we just don’t know.

But overall there’s not enough ways to earn, their payment methods suck, and their negative BBB reviews are troubling. If you’d like to earn extra income there’s better sites to join like Swagbucks, Inbox Pays, and Cash Crate. These sites let you earn with many methods, and they also give out cash payments.
