Intro – What Is CashCrate About?
CashCrate has been around since 2006 and from that time over 2 million people have joined, and over $4 million has been paid out to it’s members.
In a nutshell it’s another one of those get-paid-to (GPT) sites where you earn cash by doing various easy tasks such as completing surveys, completing offers, online shopping, and referring other people to the site.
It’s somewhat of a marketing company where CashCrate acts as a middle man, connecting new users to big companies who are looking to attract new users for their products and services. So is Cashcrate a scam or legit? That’s what we’ll find out by the end of this post.

How Does CashCrate Work? Making Money
As mentioned before, you earn cash by doing various tasks, most of which are incredibly easy to do and requires no skill:
Completing Offers – You can earn cash by doing offers such as signing up for free trials on websites, downloading apps, trying new products, and a bunch of different things like that. Some of these offers require that you give them your credit card information, the ones that do will have a red $ sign next to it. But there are plenty of offers that don’t require any credit card info to complete.
Doing Surveys – First you’d need to fill out your profile and enter a bunch of info such as your age, income, marital status, among other things, this helps surveys companies select more targeted surveys that are appropriate for you. After completing your profile, you’ll earn $1. After this you can begin completing surveys for rewards. The catch is you need to qualify for surveys, and to qualify you first need to do a pre-survey that doesn’t pay you anything. If you don’t qualify, you would have wasted all your time for nothing! I have seen many users complain heavily about this.
Playing Games – You can earn points by playing various games like Golf Solitaire, Snake Fish, Slobot, and many others. The points can then be converted to gift card vouchers at places like Amazon, Starbucks, Walmart, Itune, and many others.
Shopping – You can also earn cashback by shopping at any of the online stores listed on CashCrate. If you didn’t know, cashback is where you get a percentage of the money you’ve spent at a store back. For example if you spent $100 at Walmart, and you get a 10% cashback, that’s essentially 10% off.
Making Referrals – You can also earn money by referring new users to CashCrate. You collect 20% of all the earnings your referrals make, and 10% of their referrals. So if you get many referrals that are active and earning, you can actually make a lot of money off of just referrals while you just sit there doing nothing.
Free $1 Bonus – They currently give you a buck just to join. You don’t need to do anything else other than creating an account and confirming your email. If you’d like to get your free $1 then just sign up now here.
How Do You Get Paid?
Once you complete a survey or some other offer, you’ll get paid in dollars into your account balance, you can request a cash out once you’ve accumulated at least $20.
Some things (like playing games) don’t pay in dollars but rather in points, these points can then be redeemed for gift vouchers at various stores for you to shop at.
One of the thing that really turns me off about CashCrate is that the first time you cash out has to be done via check mailed to you which is slow and torturous. Only on the second and subsequent cash outs can you request payout via paypal which is a lot quicker to get the money.
Quick Tip: If you’d like to get your money quicker, consider checking out Swagbucks HERE instead where you can redeem rewards starting as low as $3.
Final Verdict: Is CashCrate a Scam Or Legit?
CashCrate is definitely not a scam since they do pay out to their members and are a legitimate operation. But whether it’s worth your time doing all those tasks for minuscule pay or not is another question.
My honest no BS opinion is that if you’re a kid in middle school and you can’t yet get a job and have no other way of making money, then this is definitely something you can do and I’d recommend it. But if you’re an adult looking to make hundreds or thousands a month to supplement your income or to replace your current job, don’t even bother wasting your time trying.
These “get paid to” sites along with all the other similar sites out there like Swagbucks (read review) are only good for making pennies and a few dollars here and there, they do not have the earning potential to make it a viable source of income for an adult with bills to pay.
But if a small income is good with you, then Cash Crate is a great site that has many ways to earn and do pay.
