What Is ACN?

ACN is a company that started up back in 1993 by four entrepreneurs in the USA named Greg, Robert, Tony, and Mike. In the beginning they were just reselling long distance services in the USA, but fast forward to today they’re providing full home and business services to over 26 countries in 5 different continents.

But in this review I’m going to focus more on their MLM business opportunity, if you’re interested in making money with them you can become a ACN Independent Business Owner (IBO). But first let’s take a closer look at the services that ACN provides…

What Services Does ACN Sell?

Basically ACN sells a large variety of home and business services, their services are as follows:

Home Services

  • Home Phone
  • High Speed Internet
  • Satellite TV
  • Gas & Electricity
  • Bundles
  • Security & Automation
  • Wireless Service

Business Services

  • Business Phone
  • Payment Processing
  • Satellite TV
  • Wireless Service
  • Security & Automation

How Do You Make Money With ACN?

To become an ACN Independent Business Owner (IBO) you’ll have to fill out the ACN IBO agreement form, and the application fee is a whopping $499. It’s not unusual to pay hundreds if not thousands of dollars to begin a MLM business, so $499 is not considered a high fee by MLM standards.

Once you’ve joined as a IBO you will receive your own personalized website to sell essential services and promote ACN to your family, friends, neighbors, and anyone else you know who may be interested.

As a ACN IBO you’ll have several ways of making money which are by selling ACN services, recruiting a team, and earning achievement bonuses. I’ll go over these in more detail below:

1. Selling ACN Services

ACN Independent Business Owners can earn anywhere from 2% to 8% commissions for selling ACN services to customers. So if a customer signs up for $1000 worth of ACN services, then at 2% commissions you’ll be taking $20. While that doesn’t sound like much, keep in mind that this income will be recurring every month if your customer decides to stick with ACN.

2. Recruiting a Downline

You can also earn by recruiting others to become ACN Independent Business Owners.

There is a uni plan that runs 7 levels deep, this means that anyone that you recruit directly is level 1, your recruit’s recruit is level 2, and so on for a total of 7 levels. For levels 1-3 you earn 0.25%, 0.5% for level 4, 3% for level 5, 5% for level 6, and 8% for level 7.

3. Achievement Bonuses

There are various one-time bonuses you can achieve for the recruitment of new customers to ACN. When you help a personal sponsor become a team trainer you will receive a $90-$275 bonus depending on what your leadership rank is.

The requirements for becoming a team trainer is that your sponsor must have enrolled for $499 plus have recruited 6-8 customers within a certain period of time.

For full details on the different ranks/levels, commissions structures, and bonuses, check out ACN’s full compensation plan.

Is ACN a Pyramid Scheme?

We’ve all heard about those sketchy pyramid schemes and ponzi schemes getting busted on the news and hearing about how people lost hundreds and thousands of dollars to these things, so you may be worried that ACN is one of those.

But no, ACN is not a pyramid scheme, they are a MLM company which is distinctively different.

MLM stands for multi-level marketing and it’s a business model where you’re able to make money by selling a MLM company’s products and services or by recruiting others into the business to do the same.

A pyramid scheme on the other hand is where there are no products or services to sell, and the only profit comes from recruiting others into the pyramid scheme. This type of business model is unsustainable and will eventually collapse upon itself, that’s why it’s considered illegal by the FTC

Since ACN has products and services for you to sell, they’re clearly in the category of MLM business and not a pyramid scheme. But even though MLMs are considered a legit form of business, I highly do NOT recommend anyone join them.

MLMs are incredibly hard to succeed at and most people end up losing money or barely making back their initial investments. In the next section I’ll explain why MLMs are such a difficult way to make money.

Why It’s So Hard To Make Money With MLMs

MLM business opportunities are often very attractive due to the way they’re advertised. You may be drawn to it by the idea of becoming your own boss, working your own hours, making a full time income doing it and being able to quit your day job.

But the reality is that the vast majority of people either lose money or barely making any, in the end it’s a total waste of time and money. Take ACN for example, you’ll see a bunch of success stories on their website aka “Circle of Champions,” but if you look at their disclaimer it clearly states that less than 1% of IBOs achieve it.

ACN’s earning statement

I wasn’t able to find ACN’s income disclosure so I don’t know exactly how much money on average their IBOs are making, but generally speaking 99% of MLM businesses fail according to a report done for the FTC by Jon, M. Taylor.

The toughest part about succeeding with MLMs is finding enough targeted potential customers to pitch your sales to. At first you may be able to sell a few products to your friends, co-workers, family, neighbors, etc. But eventually you’ll run out of people you personally know, then what?

If you don’t have any way of networking and finding “fresh blood” every week then there’s very little chance you’ll be able to succeed doing MLMs. But even then, you’re still unlikely to make any real money because of the fact that with MLMs the big bucks are made not by selling products, but by recruiting a massive downline.

It’s much easier to sell products than it is to recruit others to join the MLM. This is because products have an actual value, something that people already use anyway. But convincing others to become a MLM salesman is much more difficult.

The buy-in for MLMs are typically in the hundreds if not thousands ($499 in ACN’s case), very few people would be convinced enough to hand over that kind of cash to join under you.

I want to show you a funny clip of some scenes from the TV show “The King of Queens” where the character Doug got duped into a MLM business selling water filters. In these scenes he’s trying to recruit his friends and coworkers into the MLM, I think it portrays the typical experience of the average MLM business owner very well:

In ACN’s case you’re not selling water filters but instead home and business service plans. Although the products are different the idea is the same, you’ll have to keep finding new and different people to pitch your sales to, if you’re lucky you might land a few customers.

But chances of recruiting a massive downline is unlikely as most people aren’t going to be interested in paying a big startup fee to get into some sketchy MLM business.

If you feel discouraged by the high failure rate of MLMs then I recommend you check out my Top Work At Home Recommendation instead where I’ll show you a MUCH easier way to make part time or full time income online, no selling or recruiting required!

Is ACN a Scam Or Legit Opportunity?

It appears that ACN is a legit MLM business, but although they’re scam-free I still don’t recommend you join them. It’s very hard to make any real money with MLMs, even if you’re good at selling there’s still no guarantee you’ll succeed because the big bucks are always made with a massive recruitment of downlines.

There is a very small percentage of people who actually makes good money with ACN, these people are extraordinary and their results are not typical. Unless you’re some networking and marketing guru genius I’d say that it’s pretty likely that you’ll just end up as another tried and failed MLM business owner.

But fortunately you don’t have to do MLMs, because there is a much easier way to build a profitable online business. I want to show you how I personally built an online business that generates at least $1000+ per month for me.

My Top Work At Home Recommendation

For anyone who’s interested in building an online business that generates part time or full time income, I recommend that you learn to build a website/blog and monetize it with affiliate marketing, it’s basically a way to make commissions by recommending other people’s products and services on your website/blog.

This is totally different than MLMs because you’re not selling or recruiting, you’re only RECOMMENDING products. This means there’s no selling, no recruiting, no dealing with inventory, no dealing with customers, no hefty buy-in fees, and you’ll be able to promote ANYTHING you want.

This is one of the best ways to make money online for the average person because it’s REALLY low cost to get started, and you don’t need to be an expert at anything to succeed. When I started doing this back in December of 2016 I was a complete newbie, but since then I’ve built two websites that are creating a $1000+ monthly passive income stream for me.

To learn more about what I do and how you can get started today for free, check out my Top Work At Home Recommendation where I’ll go over affiliate marketing step-by-step and show you just how easy it is to get your first website set up.

In my top recommendation I’ll also show you a training platform that teaches people on how to build a profitable website/blog from scratch. The training platform provides you with in-depth training courses, videos, tutorials, guides, website builders, tools, support, community, and so much more.

If you’re looking for a way to create a job-replacing level of income online, then this is definitely a legit opportunity that I recommend. But you must also be aware that although this is one of the best ways to make money online, it’s also one of the slowest.

It takes lots of time for a website to grow to the point of generating enough traffic and conversions. It personally took me 4 months to see profits coming from my website, but after 1-2 years it’s totally possible to be able to quit your job and do this full time.

If you’re looking for quick and easy money then I recommend you check out my Favorite “Get-Paid-To” Sites which are sites that pay you a small amount of money to take online surveys, try new games, download apps, watch advertisements, and much more.

Get-paid-to sites aren’t meant to be a serious source of income, but they’re a fun way to bring in some pocket change while your online business is growing. The sites I recommended have all paid me before so I know they’re 100% legit and will pay you too.
