How Fast Can You Make Money With Wealthy Affiliate?

impatient about making money fast want immediate results

I’ve been a premium member at Wealthy Affiliate for just over 10 months now, and I’ve seen a lot of people claim success, but a lot more who just disappear and give up. My estimate is somewhere around 80% of people give up in the first 3 months.

There’s no doubt that blogging and affiliate marketing is a legit way to earn income online, but it’s one of the slowest ways as well, it can take around 6 months for google to even start trusting your blog enough to give you any rankings. Without rankings you won’t get any traffic, and without traffic you won’t make money.

So how fast can you make money with Wealthy Affiliate?

Here’s the short answer.. it’s totally up to you. There are people who start making good money after just a month, but the large majority don’t make anything until at least 6 months later! Some don’t even see a penny until at least a year. But this isn’t a luck thing, how fast you see results is totally in your control.

I earned my first penny on google adsense about 1 month after I became a premium member at Wealthy Affiliate, and about 4 months later I made my first affiliate sale on Amazon. I only devote about 1-2 hours a day to my blogs, writing about 3 posts a week.

The more posts you have, the more traffic you will get, and the faster you get traffic the faster you’ll make money.

The Burn Out

People tend to work really hard for the first few months when they first join, then they give up 3 months later because they don’t see the results they expect and they feel like they’re wasting their time. But I assure you, results do come eventually if you stick to the training and keep writing content!

The speed at which you see results is directly correlated to how much time you spend working on it. This is why it’s important to choose a niche you’re passionate about, it would be torture to force yourself to write about some boring topic you don’t care two craps about.

I’ve seen a lot of people come and go at Wealthy Affiliate in my 10 months as a premium member. Some people don’t give up completely right away, but they go from posting 4-5 times a week to posting once or twice a month, and then less and less from there on until eventually they’ve just disappeared and burn out.

Be In It For The Long Term

If you’re someone who have a full time job or a family to take care of, it can be hard to find the time everyday to work on your online business, but you can always carve out a little bit of time whether that be 1 hour a day or 15 minutes a day. It all adds up, and consistency is the key.

A small percentage of people at Wealthy Affiliate report their first affiliate sale after only a few weeks, that’s not too common though. I guess a little bit tends to be luck, but largely I would say it’s how much time and effort you’re willing to put aside everyday to grow your business.

As long as you’re consistent, most people see their efforts start paying off at around the 6 month to 1 year mark, this is generally when people start to see their blog’s traffic increase at an exponential rate. Here is a post that have helped me get through some tough times when I wasn’t sure if it was ever gonna happen for me, and I want to share it because I think it would help a lot of people as well:

  1. Thanks for your personal experience and observations. I am in the category of someone with a full-time job and family to take care of trying to make it with affiliate marketing. I appreciate your honesty and hope that by being persistent over the long-term I can see progress and a steady source of income.

yeah the toughest part about this is that it takes a long time to see success. progress is extremely slow. I’m currently writing 10x more content than I used to and see how much faster I progress.
