What Is HCD Surveys?

HCD Surveys was created in 2005 by their parent company HCD Research that has been around since 1991.

They are a USA-based consumer research panel that pays you to take surveys. These surveys come from various market research companies that are looking to collect data for their clients so they can improve existing and/or future products and services. For your time you’re compensated with cash.

Getting Started

It appears that only people from the USA can join at this time, but membership is absolutely free.

To get started you just have to fill out a simple sign up sheet with your name, email, address, date of birth, and create a password. Then you’ll also need to fill out your profile which is a brief demographic questionnaire.

The important thing about your profile is that it’s used to determine if you fit a certain criteria for the survey, so the more thorough and accurate your profile means the more chances of receiving a survey.

How To Earn Cash At HCD Surveys?

Taking Online Surveys

You can check for any available surveys by clicking on “My Surveys” section in your member’s area. They will also email you whenever there’s a survey opportunity for you.

Typically surveys pay about $1 to $2 and take 10-15 minutes to complete. You won’t get paid with cash directly, but instead points. But don’t worry, these points are worth real cash.

For your reference, 100 points = $1.00 USD.

Before doing the actual survey you’ll be faced with a screening questionnaire to determine if you fit the criteria that the survey creator is looking for. At the end of the 1-2 minute questionnaire you’ll be told whether you qualify or not.

The good news is that even if you don’t qualify you’ll still receive 10 points as compensation for your time, a lot of other survey sites don’t do this and give you nothing whatsoever!

Earning Potential

How much you can earn depends on how many surveys you get and qualify for, and how often you qualify depends on your profile. It’s important to fill out your profile completely and accurately to improve your chances of qualifying for a survey.

But for many people they’ll only qualify once in a blue moon. For example one reviewer on a forum said that they’ve been a member for 5 whole years and only reached the $10 cash out minimum once!

My personal recommendation is that you shouldn’t rely on survey sites to make anything more than chump change, I wouldn’t expect to make anymore than $5 or $10 per month at most.

You should check out my Favorite “Get-Paid-To” Sites instead which are sites that provide many opportunities where you don’t need to qualify to start earning. Get paid to watch videos, play games, open emails, click ads, and much more.

How Does HCD Surveys Pay You?

Once you’ve earned at least 1000 points ($10.00) you can request a payout via check.

It will take about 6-8 weeks for delivery to your home address. Currently check is the only payment option, unlike many other survey sites you can’t get paid via PayPal, gift cards, Bitcoin, etc.

If you’re interested in getting paid via PayPal or gift cards then check out these sites here instead.

The Pros

  • Free to join
  • Company has been around for many years
  • Pays you 10 points even if you don’t qualify for survey

The Cons

  • Only available for USA
  • Surveys may be hard to qualify for
  • No other way to earn besides taking surveys
  • Only pays with check, no PayPal or gift cards
  • Very low income potential

Is HCD Surveys a Scam?

No, HCD Surveys appear to be a legit consumer research panel, and you could probably make some spare change with them. I’ve seen many people on forums saying they’ve been paid, although in many cases it had took them a year or more to reach that $10 minimum payment threshold.

It also doesn’t help that they only pay with check. Who in this day and age got the patience to wait 6-8 weeks for a slow ass check, then another week or so for the check to clear, just for a measly $10 payout?

I highly recommend you check out my Favorite “Get-Paid-To” Sites instead because these sites all pay with PayPal, plus they offer multiple ways to earn. These sites have all paid me before, so I know they’re 100% legit!

But all of the survey sites and similar things are all low paying in nature, if you’re trying to make a living out of them my advice is don’t, there are much higher paying opportunities out there.

If you’re seeking a full time income online then see my Top Work At Home Recommendation which is a top-rated training program that teaches you how to build a website and make passive income from it.

My top recommendation definitely works, and it’s the same strategy I currently use to make $1000+ per month online. But the downside is that it’s a very slow way to make money, it might take a few months to start making any serious income, but it’s well worth it if you’re patient.
