Earn Honey Review – Is EarnHoney a Legit Sweet Way To Earn?

get free gift cards for shopping surveys games

Earn Honey is another rewards site aka get-paid-to (GPT) site  where you can earn a little bit of extra cash for doing simple tasks like taking surveys, watching videos, playing games, and more.

They’re not as famous as some of the older get-paid-to sites like Swagbucks or Inbox Pays, Earn Honey only started up a couple of years ago in 2014 and so many people may not know about them.

There are literally thousands of these get-paid-to sites on the internet, some of them are just plain scams but many are legit. So is Earnhoney a scam or are they a legit SWEET way to earn?

In this Earn Honey review I’m going to go over the different ways which you can earn, how you get paid, and whether they’re worth your time or not.

My Rating: 2.6 out of 5

earn cash rewards gift cards for surveys watching videos games

I rated EarnHoney 2.6 out of 5 because in my opinion they are a legit get-paid-to site with some good ways to earn. You won’t make much though because all the ways to earn are pretty low paying, but as far as get-paid-to sites go they are above average in my book because they offer really quick and easy payments.

While other similar sites like Inbox Pays (read review) make you wait till you’ve earned at least $50 before paying you, EarnHoney pays you as soon as your earnings reach just $5. Although Inbox Pays does have a $5 sign up bonus, so you might wanna check them out as well.

Unfortunately if you’re looking to make good money, EarnHoney will not make you rich.  But if you’re looking to make a few quick bucks, their low payment threshold is really attractive. If quick and easy payments are important to you, then consider also checking out Swagbucks (read review) where you can start redeeming at just $3, AND they also offer a $5 sign up bonus.

Earning Honey Dollars & Optin Coins

Instead of getting paid in US dollars directly, you get paid in “Honey Dollars,” and “Optin Coins,” they are both a virtual currency that are worth $0.01 and $0.10 USD respectively. Why they have 2 different virtual currencies I don’t know, it just makes it confusing.

You will be able to redeem these virtual currencies for real cold hard cash later on. So how do you earn honey dollars and Optin Coins? At EarnHoney there are plenty of different ways to earn:

Taking Surveys

This is one of the primary ways to earn. As soon as you join you will have “profile surveys” ready for you to fill out. These are just personal questions about you, like your gender, income, etc. It’ll take only a few minutes to fill out and by doing so you’ll earn about $0.30 right off the bat.

Then you’ll be able to start taking real surveys, these take 10-30 minutes to complete and usually pay around $0.25 to $2, typically on the lower range of that. But you’ll only get paid if you qualify, if you don’t pass their screening survey then you’ll have wasted your time for nothing.

Completing Offers

Depending on the offer, these can pay anywhere from $0.02 to $3.50. An offer is basically where you’re asked to do a simple task, like downloading an app, visiting specific websites, or answering some questions. Right now on EarnHoney I see a bunch of offers where you have to download a game and play till you’ve reached a certain level.

Watching Videos

While it may sound nice earning money watching videos, this is the lowest paying way to earn. For watching a video about a minute long, you’ll only earn about $0.002, that’s 20% of a penny. As you watch a video a “nectar” bar will slowly get filled, once it’s full you will get credited with your earnings. If you’re familiar with Swagbucks, it’s a similar kind of thing.

Playing Games

Right now the only game I see in my user dashboard is a puzzle game called “2048.” Again this is very low paying, you can earn only $0.03 by playing this game for 10 minutes, so you’re earning only $0.18 per hour doing this.

Referring Others To Join

Like many other similar get-paid-to sites, EarnHoney has a referral program. You’re given your own unique referral link to promote, and you can earn 10% of your referrals’ lifetime earnings. So if they earn $10, you will earn $1. Earnings from your referrals are paid out to you on the 5th of every month, which in my opinion is pretty slow, many other sites pay much faster than this.

How Does EarnHoney Pay You?

getting paid paypal bitcoin visa voucher

As soon as you earn enough Honey Dollars and Optin Coins, you can redeem them for a payment. Right now I see three different ways to get paid: Paypal, Bitcoin, and online Visa vouchers.

Online visa vouchers start at a minimum of only $5 and cost 50 Optin points or 500 Honey Dollars.

Bitcoin and Paypal start at a minimum of $10 and cost 100 Optin points or 1000 Honey Dollars.

Once you’ve requested it you will receive your payment in about 1-2 days. For the Visa vouchers you will get it in your email.

If you’d like to get your earnings even faster, consider checking out Swagbucks (read review) where you can start redeeming points for cash at just $3, they also give you a FREE $5 just for signing up.

The Negatives…

Just Extra Income

You will not be able to make a full time income with EarnHoney or any other similar rewards site. Don’t waste your time trying, all of them are low paying. You can typically expect to make about $25 to $50 a month, so this is just very small extra income.

You can make quite a bit more if you have accrued 1000’s of active referrals. To learn how to do this check out a business model called affiliate marketing which is currently what I do to make money online.

Limited Offers For International Users

Currently membership is only limited to people mainly in the US, people coming from Canada or the UK may have access to the EarnHoney platform, but they will have less opportunities to earn than their US counterparts.

Verdict: Is EarnHoney a Scam Or Legit?

EarnHoney is not a scam, they’re a legit get-paid-to (GPT) site that has some good ways to earn, but what I really like about them are their quick and easy payouts.

Because the rewards on these GPT sites are typically really low, I really dislike sites that make you wait till you’ve earned $50+ before paying you, that $50 doesn’t sound like much but it will take you probably at least month to make.

Getting paid at $5 or $10 increments is therefore much more reasonable. They won’t make you rich, but if you’re looking for cheeseburger money then GPT sites are a good way to go.

Also check out my top 2 recommended sites Swagbucks (read review) and Inbox Pays (read review,) both are currently offering a $5 sign up bonus.

If you’re looking for a way to earn a full time online income, then forget about these GPT sites and other similar things and check out my #1 recommended way of making money online instead. I wrote all about it in a FREE guide, get my guide here:

Does earn honey make you go through hoops when it comes to their surveys? I have been on a lot of earn money from survey sites and they tend to interrupt me in the middle of a survey to tell me I am not qualified. It frustrates me from a wasting time standpoint.

    • Author - Kent Leung says:

Yeah, most survey sites have screening process. I recommend you go with the offers since they pay about the same and don’t have any screening procedures that waste your time.

GPT sites are there for people who wanted to earn little bucks in simple jobs but you’re right, they’re time wasting. I hate surveys, my country and being a simple homemaker won’t make me qualified, as if they’re looking for those working in offices to take the surveys. Earn Honey could be one of this. I like your review, it’s very informative and makes a person realize not to waste on this.

    Thumbs up!

Hey Eli, I also hate surveys. I recommend people to do the offers instead because the pay isn’t bad and they’re also easy to do and no qualification is needed.
