Recently someone told me about another survey panel called Crowdology so I thought I’d check them out and do a review on them. I have found that Crowdology is not a scam, but there’s just too many things I don’t like about them to recommend them to people.
Crowdology is a survey site for USA and UK residents, you can go on there to make a little money taking surveys, but there’s no other way to earn besides doing surveys. I prefer sites like Swagbucks that give you a few other ways to earn so it gives you more variety, you can earn more doing more things, and so you don’t get bored.
I do however like that they pay their members via Paypal and the minimum payout is only $8. Also you can get Amazon vouchers starting at just $10.
In this Crowdology I’ll go over in detail how it works, why I don’t recommend you joining this survey panel, and some better sites out there you can make more money at.
Intro – Crowdology Review
Type: Paid to do surveys
Membership Price: No cost to join
My Rating: 2.6 out of 5
So I gave Crowdology a rating of 2.6 out of 5 and they’re okay but nothing special. They do pay you for taking their surveys, but I don’t recommend you join them because there are many things I dislike about them.
They do pay via Paypal and the minimum is only $8, this gets huge marks from me, I love sites that make getting your money easy. Some sites still only pay by check! I mean, what year are we in?
But the biggest reason I dislike them is because they’re what I call a “pure” survey site, meaning there’s no other way to earn besides doing surveys. I prefer get-paid-to sites like Swagbucks (read review) that pays you to take surveys, watch videos, search the web, click ads, and more. More options is good, right? This is why buffets are so popular.
If the idea of having multiple ways to earn sounds good to you, then consider checking out These Top Get-Paid-To Sites I have already reviewed and recommend.
How Does Crowdology Work?
Crowdology says you can make $0.40 to $10+ on every survey you complete, but the truth is that most surveys that you’ll qualify for and take are the lower paying ones that are around $0.40 to $2. Higher paying surveys do exist, but the demographic selection would be very strict and so not many people would qualify for them.
As previously mentioned, taking surveys is the only way to earn on Crowdology. This sucks because qualifying for surveys isn’t easy (even the lower paying ones) and you’ll waste a lot of time answering the screening questions only to find out yet once again you didn’t qualify.
Why go to a hot dog stand when you can eat at a buffet that also serves hot dogs? In the same way why join pure survey sites that only offer surveys when you can join get-paid-to sites like Swagbucks (read review) that also offers surveys, but in addition you can also earn playing games, watching advertisements, joining websites, shopping, and more.
After joining the Crowdology survey panel and completing a survey and you’ll be entered into a sweepstakes with various kinds of prizes available to be won. Some examples of prizes include a $250 prepaid Visa gift cards, headphones, $50 Amazon gift cards, ASOS vouchers, just to name a few.
To be honest Crowdology’s referral program really sucks. Many other survey sites have referral programs that pay you a percentage (usually around 10%) of whatever your referrals make for life.
Crowdology just gives you an entry into their sweepstakes for referring a friend to join.
I don’t know about you but I’ve never been lucky enough to win any kind of drawing type of contest, and so I’m really not a fan of this lottery sort of thing. Crowdology also has lots of members so you’ll have lots of competitions, your odds of winning anything are not good…
How Does Crowdology Pay You?
One thing I do like about Crowdology is how easy they make it for you to receive your earnings. You have two different ways to get paid – Paypal and Amazon vouchers. The minimum payout is only $8 for Paypal and $10 for Amazon vouchers.
Once you have requested your payout you will typically receive it in a few hours, but it can take up to 1-2 days.
$8 and $10 may not sound like a lot, but chances are you’ll have trouble reaching this payout. You’ll seldom even qualify for surveys and those you do qualify for typically only pays $0.40 to $2, so it’ll probably take you at least a month to earn $8 to $10.
That’s why I prefer These Top Get-Paid-To Sites instead, when you’re out of luck with surveys you can always earn watching videos, playing games, reading emails, and this sort of thing is guaranteed to pay you something for your time.
Final Verdict: Is Crowdology a Scam?
The Crowdology survey panel is definitely legit and not a scam, with that being said their cons outweigh their pros in my opinion and they’re not really worth joining. Sure they make it easy to receive your money via Paypal and Amazon vouchers, and the minimum payout is only $8 and $10 respectively, but MAKING that money in the first place is hard!
The biggest reason you shouldn’t join them is that they only give you surveys as the sole way to earn. I recommend you check out get-paid-to sites instead, they offer multiple ways to earn so you don’t have to rip out your hair after being disqualified for a survey for the 10th time in a row.
My favorite get-paid-to site is Swagbucks (read review) and they’re my top recommendation for you if you’re looking for a small extra income. They have the best ways to earn and they pay quickly and easier via Paypal and Amazon gift cards. You can see the full list of get-paid-to sites I recommend HERE.
But a small extra income can only get you so far, if you’re trying to build a nest egg or make a full time living online then you need to learn how to Build Your Own Online Business with a blog/website.
