What Is CheckPoints?

CheckPoints is a mobile app that lets you earn cool prizes like gift cards, airline miles, and gadgets for doing a variety of online and offline tasks. If you’ve ever heard of “get-paid-to” sites like Swagbucks, it’s basically the same sort of thing except CheckPoints works with an app only.

You can download the CheckPoints app onto your Android or iOS device for free at Google Play or the Apple Store.

To sign up for a new account you can either register by logging into your Facebook account or entering your email. Once you’ve signed up you’re ready to start earning points.

Ways To Earn Points

By doing tasks you’ll earn points which can be saved up and redeemed for hundreds of rewards including gift cards from major retailers like Amazon, Target, Walmart, plus more. Here are the different ways you can earn points:

Checking In & Out

You can earn points while you go shopping. The app will show you which grocery store nearby your location is eligible for earning points. Once you’ve arrived at the grocery store’s location you just have to click the “check in” box to earn points.

The app will also tell you specific grocery items at the store you can “check out” to earn more points. To check out an item just point your phone’s camera at the item’s barcode.

Answering Surveys

Surveys are basically multiple choice questionnaires on various topics, products, or services, they usually only take 5-10 minutes to complete.

Completing Offers

Offers basically mean paid to participate or signing up for something, for example downloading another app, entering your email for a prize draw, signing up for a free trial, playing a game until you reach a certain level, and more.

Watching Videos

This is probably the easiest way to earn points, unfortunately it’s the most low paying. All you have to do is click the videos and begin watching them, these videos will only be 30 second to 1 minute long and they’re usually commercials of various products or movie trailers.

Playing Games

There are various games that will keep you entertained as well as earning you a few points. Imagine you’re bored somewhere and have some time to kill, you probably pull out your phone a lot anyway so why not open this app to play some games and earn points?

Referring Friends

You can grab your referral link and promote CheckPoints to everyone you know. People who sign up under your link will become your referral and you get to earn 100% matched of whatever they earn for the first two weeks.

How Does CheckPoints Pay You?

Once you have earned enough points you can redeem them for gift cards, air miles, or physical gadgets. There are hundreds of different gift cards to choose from including Amazon, Best Buy, Target, Walmart, and much more.

These gift cards usually cost 340 points for a $10 reward. The physical gadgets include things like tablets and gaming systems and can cost up to 10,000+ points which would probably take you years to accumulate!

Another option is to donate your points to charity if you’re interested in helping out the less fortunate.

There aren’t any ways to turn points into cash. If you want to earn cash check out my Favorite “Get-Paid-To” Sites instead where in addition to gift cards there are other payment methods including cash via Paypal or check.

Video Summary of CheckPoints:

The Negatives

  • App-based platform mean you can’t earn on your laptop or desktop

Is CheckPoints a Scam or Legit?

CheckPoints appears to be a legit app that pays real rewards to you for doing some fun and easy tasks. They don’t cost anything to join, so at worst you’ve pretty much got nothing to lose except a bit of your time.

Currently they hold a 4.1 out of 5 rating on Google Play, there are many happy users stating that the app is using for making some extra income, but the downside is that everything is so low paying and it takes a long time to accumulate enough points for a rewards redemption.

A good strategy would be to join multiple apps or sites to increase your earning potential. I recommend you check out my full list of Favorite “Get-Paid-To” Sites.

But no matter how many sites you join these things will not pay enough to make a full time income. At most you can expect $25 to $50 per month, maybe a bit more if you join multiple sites/apps.
